An MRI taken Wednesday on Manny Banuelos' left elbow showed a posterior bone spur.

Mike Trout (wrist) is out of the Angels' starting lineup again on Wednesday night.

Trout injured his wrist on a diving catch attempt Monday. An MRI taken Tuesday showed only inflammation and the star center fielder is fully expected to avoid the 15-day disabled list. David DeJesus is starting in center field Wednesday in his Angels debut.

Mike Hessman tied a minor league record with his 432nd career homer Wednesday in a win for Triple-A Toledo.

The historic blast came in the third inning off Rochester right-hander Michael Bowden. Hessman also contributed a first-inning double. One more homer will put him ahead of Buzz Arlett for the most in minor league history. The 37-year-old leads the Mud Hens with 15 round-trippers in 307 at-bats this season. A career Quad-A player, Hessman hasn't made a big league appearance since 2010.

Cubs SS prospect Javier Baez blasted two home runs Tuesday in a win for Triple-A Iowa.

it was his first game back in Triple-A after missing close to two months with a broken finger. Tuesday marked Baez's third multi-homer game of 2015. He's dominated the minor leagues this season, hitting .325 across 157 at-bats while posting a stellar .399 on base percentage. The 22-year-old has come up in trade rumors and could be dealt ahead of Friday's deadline. Starlin Castro, the Cubs' current shortstop, could also be available.

Corey Kluber went the distance against the Royals Wednesday, recording six strikeouts while allowing just one run in a 12-1 victory.

He missed out on a shutout when Alex Rios had an RBI groundout in the ninth inning, but that's hardly anything to quibble over. Kluber permitted just five base knocks on the day and issued just one free pass as the Tribe rolled to a win. The reigning American League Cy Young winner has a superb 172/32 K/BB ratio over 157 innings this season to go along with a 3.44 ERA. He'll get the Angels on the road next.
