Travis Shaw (wrist) is back in the Brewers' starting lineup Wednesday night against the Pirates.

Shaw will start at third base and bat cleanup versus Pittsburgh right-hander Chad Kuhl after missing two games with a minor right wrist injury. The 28-year-old has an .835 OPS with 14 homers and 45 RBI in 69 games this season.

Pirates recalled INF/OF Adam Frazier from Triple-A Indianapolis.

He'll give the Bucs some position-player depth while Corey Dickerson is away on family medical emergency leave. Frazier is batting just .237/.318/.356 in 152 plate appearances this season at the major league level.

Pirates placed OF Corey Dickerson on the family medical emergency leave list.

Dickerson should return to the team sometime this weekend. Adam Frazier has been called up from Triple-A Indianapolis in a corresponding 25-man roster move.

Ryan Buchter (shoulder) is expected to rejoin the A's next week in Detroit.

Buchter, who landed on the disabled list in late April with a left shoulder strain, has made four scoreless rehab appearances between High-A Stockton and Triple-A Nashville. The 31-year-old southpaw was sporting an impressive 1.69 ERA through his first 10 2/3 innings of relief this season with Oakland.

Brett Gardner (knee) remains out of the Yankees' starting lineup Wednesday versus the Mariners.

Gardner has now missed four straight games due to discomfort in his right knee, but there is no talk of placing him on the disabled list. Clint Frazier is starting in left field and batting ninth on Wednesday night against Mariners right-hander Felix Hernandez.

A.J. Ramos underwent season-ending surgery on his right shoulder Wednesday in New York.

Mets medical director Dr. David Altchek performed the procedure at the Hospital for Special Surgery. Ramos wound up logging just 19 2/3 innings this season, to the tune of a 6.41 ERA, 1.63 WHIP, and 22/15 K/BB ratio. The 31-year-old right-hander will be a free agent this winter and might have to settle for a low-base-salary, one-year contract given the health concerns.
Jun 20 - 3:11 PM

Austin Meadows (foot) is starting in right field and batting second Wednesday versus the Brewers.

Meadows was held out of the Pirates' starting lineup on Tuesday night due to a sore right foot, though he did appear as a pinch-hitter. The 23-year-old rookie boasts a .323/.347/.591 batting line with five home runs, 11 RBI, three stolen bases, and 12 runs scored through his first 27 major league games. Gregory Polanco and Corey Dickerson are both on the Pirates' bench Wednesday with the Brewers throwing left-hander Brent Suter.
Jun 20 - 3:07 PM

Johnny Cueto (elbow) could begin a minor league rehab assignment as early as Saturday.

A more detailed plan will be laid out after Cueto plays catch on Thursday. He's already thrown a number of bullpen sessions, and he faced live batters earlier this week without issue. The veteran right-hander had a stellar 0.84 ERA and 0.69 WHIP in five starts with the Giants when he landed on the disabled list May 1 with a sprained right elbow.
