Cowboys VP Stephen Jones called running back "a position of interest" for Dallas once NFL teams turn in their final cuts.

Joseph Randle's grip on Dallas' lead-back job appears to be fading, while the Cowboys should be fully aware of Darren McFadden's lengthy injury history. No. 3 back Lance Dunbar has spent three years in the NFL and never totaled more than 30 rushing attempts. The Cowboys missed out on running backs in the draft and could turn to the NFL waiver wire for increased depth.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Chuck Pagano is entering a "make-or-break year" as the Colts' head coach.

There have been whispers of a growing schism between GM Ryan Grigson and Pagano, which were initially relayed by CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora and the Indy Star's Bob Kravitz. FOX Sports' Mike Garofolo reported that one of the reasons for tension is Grigson's belief that Donte Moncrief should have played over a clearly-washed-up Reggie Wayne last season. Pagano has been tight with Wayne since they were both at the University of Miami (FL). Pagano has reportedly rejected a "couple of one-year extension" offers from the Colts. Pagano also attempted to emphasize a "run-first" approach with Trent Richardson in 2013, even when Andrew Luck was the Colts' best means of moving the ball. If Pagano doesn't earn a new contract this year, Grigson could conceivably turn to the college ranks for a more innovative coach, or promote impressive third-year OC Pep Hamilton.

The Indianapolis Star tabbed rookie Henry Anderson as a player who could help contribute on the Colts defensive line after losing DT Arthur Jones to an ankle injury.

The Colts D/ST will be looking for numerous players to step up in Jones' absence, and this blow certainly hurts the chances of the Indianapolis D/ST being fantasy-relevant. The weakened Colts defensive line will be tested out of the gates as they travel to Buffalo to take on Rex Ryan's run-focused offense.

The New Orleans Times-Picayune expects Delvin Breaux to start alongside Brandon Browner at cornerback with Keenan Lewis out 4-6 weeks.

The news of hip surgery for Lewis hurts the New Orleans D/ST unit that was 25th in the NFL against the pass last season, allowing 251.2 yards through the air each week. Carson Palmer and the Arizona Cardinals passing game should be able to move the ball with relative ease against New Orleans in Week 1, making the Saints D/ST a group to avoid when the regular season begins.

The wife of Redskins GM Scot McCloughan -- Jessica McCloughan -- admitted Wednesday that she recently sent a disparaging tweet to an ESPN reporter accusing the reporter of performing sexual favors on Scot in exchange for news scoops.

Redskins PR director Tony Wyllie -- a known liar -- initially claimed that Jessica McCloughan's tweet came from a fake Twitter account, but she's since admitted it was hers and apologized. In a statement, Jessica wrote that her accusation was "unfounded and inappropriate" and stated she has "the utmost respect" for the reporter and ESPN. The Redskins have been a circus throughout Dan Snyder's ownership. That circus has continued into the tenure of respected talent evaluator Scot McCloughan, who took over as Redskins GM eight months ago.

Jermaine Gresham (hamstring) won’t play in Thursday’s preseason finale.

Gresham will miss the entire preseason recovering from back surgery and a hamstring issue. With Troy Niklas also sidelined, Darren Fells is locked in as Arizona’s Week 1 starter.

The Titans want to use Dorial Green-Beckham as a red-zone threat.

"It’s something you try to simulate, but a lot of times you can’t guarantee the coverage you’re going to get," coach Ken Whisenhunt said. "So all we can do is try to prepare him in practice. When you get to the season, it’s about matchups." Green-Beckham was held out of last week's dress rehearsal with an ankle injury. He hasn't played with the first team during the preseason, but remains a high-upside late-round flyer. Green-Beckham will open the season behind Kendall Wright, Harry Douglas, and Hakeem Nicks.

Joseph Randle was an unexpected absence from the Cowboys' kickoff luncheon on Wednesday because he had to be in Kansas "for a court appearance."

Per the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Randle's trip to Wichita "was not related" to a February incident where his ex-girlfriend alleged domestic violence, and was "likely" due to "either a family law case, or a misdemeanor charge." The Cowboys told reporters Randle's absence Wednesday was "for personal reasons."
