Carlos Peguero hit his first home run of the season in Tuesday's win over the Astros.

Peguero hit the two-run shot off Astros starter Scott Feldman in the first inning. It was his only hit in three at-bats. Peguero's power has always been his calling card but just hitting for average has been the struggle. This year is no different, as he's now batting .184/.367/.368 through 19 games.

Royals optioned RHP Yohan Pino to Triple-A Omaha.

Pino's being optioned to make room for the return of Greg Holland. In 10 1/3 innings this season, Pino hasn't allowed a run. He figures to see time in the Royals' bullpen at various points this season, especially if he continues pitching well. It should be noted, though, that he posted a 5.07 ERA over 60 1/3 innings for the Twins last season.

Elvis Andrus went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a stolen base against the Astros on Tuesday.

Andrus singled and scored in both the first and third innings. The steal was his fourth of the season. Andrus had a slow start but has steadily improved his average; counting Tuesday, Andrus has hit safely in 12 of his last 14 games. That amounts to a .240/.298/.317 line overall.

Stephen Strasburg will see a chiropractor on Wednesday for an alignment issue with his shoulder.

From the sound of it, this isn't an arm injury. According to manager Matt Williams, Strasburg is feeling discomfort under his shoulder. He labored through three innings against the Marlins on Tuesday and at one point was visited by the trainer. He'll visit the chiropractor to see if the issue can be worked out. It's unknown as of now if he'll make his next start.

The Rangers got to Scott Feldman early and often Tuesday, putting up six runs on nine hits over Feldman's three innings of work.

The Rangers scored four runs in the first inning, two on a Prince Fielder double and two on Carlos Peguero's first homer of the season. They tacked on two more in the third, Feldman's last inning. The right-hander walked one and struck out two in the outing. The loss was his first in his last four starts and dropped him to 2-3 on the year. Feldman will take a 5.50 ERA into Sunday's start at the Angels.

Steve Cishek got into and then out of ninth-inning trouble to close out Tuesday's 2-1 win against the Nationals.

Cishek allowed a leadoff single to Wilson Ramos, then saw Ian Desmond reach base thanks to a fielding error from shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria. Cishek got out of the jam, though, as he got Dan Uggla hit into a fielder's choice to erase the lead runner, then struck out Michael Taylor and Tyler Moore to end the game. Cishek, now 3-for-5 in save chances, has been anything but automatic. He has a 7.71 ERA with a 9/4 K/BB ratio in 9 1/3 innings.

Kyle Blanks went 3-for-4 with a home run and two runs scored in a win over the Astros Tuesday.

Blanks had a couple singles to go along with the solo blast, his third in just six games. The first baseman has been scorching hot since being recalled, owning a .391/.440/.826 line through 23 at-bats.
May 5 - 11:00 PM

Bryce Harper was held hitless with two strikeouts in four at-bats as the Nationals suffered a loss to the Marlins on Tuesday.

After finishing the month of April strong, Harper has slumped in five May games, recording just one hit (a single) in 21 plate appearances. Though he has been drawing plenty of walks all season, his triple-slash line is otherwise disappointing at .245/.405/.457.
