Tom Brady and the NFL failed to reach a settlement Monday in their dispute over Brady's four-game suspension.

The talks went nowhere and the hearing was over quickly. Fox Sports' Mike Garafolo reports a decision from U.S. District Judge Richard Berman is expected tomorrow or Wednesday. We are finally nearing the end of this ridiculous saga.

Jaguars OC Greg Olson called out sophomore WR Marqise Lee (hamstring) for missing practice.

"He's to me like the albino tiger at the zoo," Olson said. "You get there and if you're lucky enough to get him to come out of the cage and see him, it's a good day." The analogy is not far off. Olson said he has only seen Lee three times in practice since he has been with the Jaguars, and Lee missed a lot of time his rookie year as well. Lee is well behind Allen Hurns no the depth chart, and he may have fallen behind rookie Rashad Greene as well.

DetroitLions.com's Tim Twentyman said the acquisition of TE Tim Wright had "nothing to do" with Eric Ebron.

Several Lions' beat writers have expressed the same sentiment following the trade with most speculating Wright's acquisition has more to do with the organization's feelings towards Joseph Fauria. Detroit could decide to keep four tight ends, but with Ebron and Brandon Pettigrew locks, Wright and Fauria could be competing for one roster spot.

Browns coach Mike Pettine said the fourth preseason game is not "make or break" for WR Terrelle Pryor (hamstring).

Pryor has missed the entire preseason slate after going down with a hamstring injury early in camp, and Pettine said last week the window was closing on him making the team. Pettine appears to have softened that stance, perhaps because Pryor represents the most athletic upside in the Browns' nondescript receiving corps. Pryor's spot on the final roster is still very much up in the air.

Bucs rookie LT Donovan Smith was spotted with a walking boot on his right foot.

Smith did not participate in practice on Monday. Smith played well in Tampa Bay's third preseason game Saturday, so it is unclear when the injury occurred or if it is serious. With RT Demar Dotson (knee) out at least the first couple games, the Bucs cannot afford to be without Smith to start the season.

Broncos waived QB Zac Dysert.

Dysert was beaten out by rookie Trevor Siemian. Denver also waived/released ILB Reggie Walker, CB Tevrin Brandon, G Andre Davis, TE Joe Don Duncan, P Spencer Lanning, S Ross Madison, TE Jake Murphy, RB Jeremy Stewart and OLB Chase Vaughn. After placing rookie TE Jeff Heuerman on injured reserve, Denver needs to make four more roster moves ahead of Tuesday's deadline.

Bills waived/released DE Michael Buchanan, CB Ross Cockrell, DT Justin Hamilton, LB Andrew Hudson, T Terren Jones, CB Ellis Lankster, S Kenny Ladler, S Wes Miller, G DJ Morrell, DE Cedric Reed and RB Rickey Seale.

Buchanan was a seventh-round pick of the Patriots in 2013. Along with Fred Jackson, these players represent the Bills' first cuts.
Aug 31 - 10:43 AM

Texans acquired OT Chris Clark from the Broncos in exchange for a 2016 seventh-round pick.

Clark started seven games at right tackle for the Broncos last season, but he spent this offseason behind rookie Ty Sambrailo at left tackle. Clark can play left tackle, so he will be good insurance if Duane Brown (finger) is unable to play Week 1.
