Zack Wheeler left Saturday's game against the Pirates with a blister.

Wheeler was at 94 pitches when he exited so his night was winding down anyway. The severity of his blister will determine Wheeler's availability going forward. Despite the blister, Wheeler turned in a quality start (6 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 2 BB, 5 Ks) and would have been in line for the win if not for a blown save by Addison Reed. His next start is scheduled for Thursday against Milwaukee.

Will Harris worked a perfect ninth inning with two strikeouts for his second save of the season in Saturday's game against the Orioles.

Regular closer Ken Giles was not available after nailing down saves and racking up 28 pitches over the past two days. Harris has proven to be a capable late-innings pitcher, posting a respectable 2.49 ERA and 0.97 WHIP while also amassing 10 holds. He is a solid fantasy option in rotisserie formats for help in the ERA and WHIP categories.

Dallas Keuchel allowed just one earned run, four hits and two walks while recording eight strikeouts across six innings in a win Saturday against the Orioles.

Keuchel showed no ill effects from the neck injury which forced him to the 10-day disabled list. He made 86 pitches, throwing 55 for strikes, and continues to mow down opponents. Keuchel is now 8-0 with a 1.81 ERA and sparkling 0.88 WHIP, and he is even better at home. The southpaw is 4-0 with a 1.04 ERA in five outings at Minute Maid Park this season. His next scheduled start is set for Friday in Texas.

Buck Farmer struck out 11 White Sox over 6 1/3 scoreless innings to help the Tigers salvage a split in Saturday's doubleheader with a 4-3 win in the nightcap.

Making what was supposed to be a spot start as the team's 26th man for the doubleheader, Farmer may have forced the club to make a tough decision with his dominant performance. He gave up just three hits, all singles, while walking two over his 6 1/3 innings, then watched as the Sox tried to mount a comeback in the ninth to deny him of the win. Assuming the Tigers find reason to keep him around -- and given their rotation struggles, it's not hard to see how they might -- Farmer might get another shot at the White Sox when the two clubs meet next weekend.

Brock Stewart (shoulder) lasted just 1/3 of an inning Saturday in a rehab start for High-A Rancho Cucamonga.

He let up three hits, three runs (two earned) and a walk before exiting. Stewart threw 17 of his 23 pitches for strikes and finished with one strikeout. It obviously wasn't the outing Stewart was hoping for, but at least he came out of healthy. His fastball reportedly topped out at 95 mph. Stewart will likely need a couple more outings before he's ready to join the Dodgers.

Justin Wilson gave up three runs in a non-save situation against the White Sox on Saturday.

He was called upon to protect a 4-0 lead in the ninth inning and nearly blew it. A Tim Anderson single plated the first run, then Yolmer Sanchez tripled in two more to make the score 4-3. Wilson was confronted with the tying run on third base and only one out, but he was able to strike out the next two batters to extinguish the threat. The bad outing caused his ERA to rise from 1.89 to 3.15 in one swoop. He has three saves since taking over as the Tigers' closer from Francisco Rodriguez. Wilson has racked up a stellar 33 strikeouts (including three today) and just five walks in 20 innings of work.

Victor Martinez went 2-for-3 with a home run and a pair of walks in Saturday's nightcap against the White Sox.

Amazingly, V-Mart walked five times over the course of the two games in Saturday's doubleheader. He also connected for the solo homer in the ninth inning, his fourth of the year. It's not flashy, but the 38-year-old is having a decent year at the plate thus far, hitting .264/.350/.384 in 44 games.
May 27 - 10:30 PM

Brandon McCarthy left Saturday's game against the Cubs with right knee tendinitis.

He's headed for an MRI. McCarthy started feeling discomfort in the fourth inning but went another two innings before getting the hook from manager Dave Roberts. The right-hander pitched in a win over the Cubs, scattering two hits and one walk over six shutout innings. If McCarthy lands on the disabled list, Hyun-Jin Ryu and Julio Urias would be candidates to replace him in the starting rotation.
