Yoenis Cespedes reached all four times up Tuesday, going 3-for-3 with a walk against the Diamondbacks.

The good news is that Cespedes seems to have found his stroke, going 9-for-15 with a homer and two walks in his last four games. The bad is that he doesn't have as many guys to drive in and to drive him in now that the Mets have traded Jay Bruce, Curtis Granderson, Lucas Duda and Neil Walker. They actually had Matt Reynolds playing right field tonight.

Rays designated INF/DH Trevor Plouffe for assignment.

Plouffe batted just .178/.268/.247 in 31 games for Tampa Bay, after hitting .214/.276/.357 through his first 58 games of the season with Oakland. The 31-year-old should be able to find another team eventually, but he's probably off the fantasy radar for good.

Gary Sanchez went 3-for-6 with two homers and four RBI as the Yankees crushed the Tigers 13-4 on Tuesday

It's funny; there hasn't been as much talk about Sanchez's defense while he's homered seven times and driven in 16 runs in his last 10 games. He's up to 25 homers for the season now. In 546 career at-bats (619 plate appearances) -- essentially a full season for a non-catcher -- he's amassed 45 homers and 111 RBI.

Daniel Gossett will be called up to start for the Athletics on Wednesday in Baltimore.

Gossett looked sharp in his last major league start August 2 against the Giants and he's been good this year at Triple-A, but Camden Yards can be a dangerous place for fantasy streamers. The 24-year-old right-hander should get more rotation assignments down the stretch and might have mixed-league appeal in some of those.

Ubaldo Jimenez was touched up for five runs on nine hits and a walk over five frames in Tuesday’s loss to the Athletics.

Jimenez struck out 11 A’s batters in a start in Oakland earlier this month. He whiffed just four in this one and that’s only one more than the number of home runs he surrendered, as Ryon Healy got him twice and Jed Lowrie also took him deep. Jimenez had mostly pitched pretty well the last month or so, but he’s now put up two straight clunkers. He gets the Mariners next.

Blake Treinen netted a four-out save in Tuesday's 6-4 victory over the Orioles.

It didn't start off smoothly, as Treinen gave up a two-run single to the first hitter he saw, Jonathan Schoop. He settled in after that, though, as the only other runner to reach base off him did so on an error. Treinen is the clear top choice for the ninth inning in Oakland at this point and has gone more than one frame to notch his last two saves.

Masahiro Tanaka was sharp in his return from the disabled list, pitching seven innings of three-run ball Tuesday against the Tigers.

It was one run in six innings before Tanaka gave up a two-run homer in the seventh. Tanaka pretty much cruised tonight with the Yankees opening up a big lead; he walked none and threw just 90 pitches to get his 21 outs. It was a performance that bodes well for his owners.

Matt Boyd was torched for seven runs in 2 1/3 innings by the Yankees on Tuesday.

It'd seem to be a good time for the Tigers to give someone else a try. Boyd has allowed 20 earned runs in 17 2/3 innings this month, pushing his ERA up to 6.24.
