The Miami Herald considers CB Brent Grimes a candidate for a pay cut.

Grimes has been rumored as a potential cut due to his $9.5M cap hit. The Dolphins are desperate for cap space, but have no choice but to pay Grimes his full salary. Releasing Grimes would cost Miami $3M in dead money.

The Dolphins plan to restructure Ndamukong Suh’s contract.

Restructuring Suh will drop his cap number from $28.6M to $10.4M. After releasing Quinton Coples and Brice McCain, the Dolphins could also cut ties with Greg Jennings and Jordan Cameron.

The Miami Herald believes the Dolphins should release Jordan Cameron.

Cameron is due a non-guaranteed $7.5 million. Releasing him could be the only option if he doesn’t accept a pay cut. Cameron had just a 35/386/3 line his first season in Miami.

Broncos TE Owen Daniels is considering retirement.

"Of course. That's definitely an option," said Daniels. "But I'm a man of my word, I signed a three-year deal, so I'd like to keep playing." Daniels turns 34 in November. It sounds like he’ll play next season, but isn’t a lock to return at his $3.5M salary.

TCU QB Trevone Boykin will work with the quarterbacks at the Combine.

Boykin skipped the Senior Bowl after refusing to play receiver. How he throws at the Combine will make-or-break whether he stays at quarterback. Boykin was one of the top players in college over the last two years, but position/off-field concerns have his draftability in question.

ESPN Dallas reports the Cowboys plan to restructure LT Tyron Smith’s contract.

Dallas currently has $13.5 million in cap space. Restructuring Smith and DT Tyrone Crawford creates $12M in savings. The Cowboys could save $9.1M from making Brandon Carr a post-June cut.

The Cowboys could have interest in free agent Colt McCoy.

McCoy would be a low-cost option behind Tony Romo, but isn’t a huge upgrade on Kellen Moore. Dallas is more likely to add a backup through the draft.

ESPN Dolphins reporter James Walker reports DT Earl Mitchell could be a cap cut.

Signed to a four-year, $16 million contract prior to the 2014 season, Mitchell has recorded two sacks and 55 tackles in 28 games with the Dolphins. He battled back and calf injuries last season and never settled in next to Ndamukong Suh. Miami can save $2.5 million against the cap by releasing Mitchell.
