Edwin Encarnacion singled and ripped a two-run home run in Sunday's victory over the Mariners.

Both Ryan Goins and Encarnacion went deep for the Jays in the fifth inning off of Taijuan Walker. Encarnacion still isn't hitting for average, but he's really found his power stroke of late with eight dingers over his last 16 contests. He has 12 homers and 32 RBI on the season.

Mark Canha struck the big blow in Sunday's win over the Rays, hitting a three-run home run in a 2-for-3 effort.

Canha also walked and doubled. His three-run home run off of Erasmo Ramirez in the sixth inning extended the Athletics' lead to 5-0 at the time. The 26-year-old rookie had hit the skids at the plate, entering Sunday's action 2-for-34 in 13 games since May 5. On the year, Canha is hitting .229/.305/.415 with six home runs and 18 RBI.

Billy Burns went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, a stolen base, and three runs scored in Sunday's victory over the Rays.

Burns led off the game with a solo home run to right field off of Erasmo Ramirez, serving as his first career long ball. He also singled twice and stole a base en route to scoring two more runs. The speedy outfielder has been a spark plug at the top of the Athletics' lineup, batting .309/.356/.395 with seven stolen bases in nine attempts.

Kyle Seager singled and belted a solo homer in Sunday's loss to the Blue Jays.

He scored the Mariners' only two runs of the game, going deep in the second and then scoring on a sac fly in the seventh. Seager is starting to heat up, having homered in back-to-back games and while hitting .311 with five longballs over his last 16 contests.

Cubs third base prospect Jeimer Candelario smashed two homers in Saturday's win for High-A Myrtle Beach.

It's the second multi-homer game of his career. Candelario had been 0-for-12 in his previous three games. The 21-year-old hit only .223 in the minors last season, but this year he's up to .270 with 14 RBI. Candelario also singled on Saturday, giving him his fifth three-hit game of the season.

Rangers signed RHP Jared Burton to a minor league contract.

Burton allowed three runs over four relief innings with the Yankees' Triple-A affiliate before being cut loose. The soon-to-be 34-year-old held a 4.36 ERA out of the Twins' bullpen last season and is a decent depth addition.

Yankees transferred INF Brendan Ryan from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.

The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster for Jacob Lindgren. Ryan has been out all season with a strained calf.

Yankees optioned RHP Branden Pinder to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

The Yankees needed a fresh relief arm after Pinder threw three innings on Saturday. Jacob Lindgren has taken his spot in the bullpen.
