Keone Kela coughed up three runs in the ninth inning to take a loss against the Mariners on Friday.

He came in to pitch the ninth inning of a tie game. The only out he got came on a sacrifice bunt. The other three batters he faced all got hits, including a double by Jean Segura that brought home the winning runs. The bad outing likely won't cost Kela his job as closer because these were the first runs he's allowed this year. He is 2-1 with two saves and a 4.76 ERA in 5 2/3 innings.

Kyle Hendricks allowed three earned runs, five hits and no walks with six strikeouts over five innings in a win at Colorado on Friday.

Hendricks threw just 57 of his 95 pitches for strikes, and he hit one batter with a pitch. However, it was good enough to qualify for his first victory of 2018, helped out by plenty of run support. He'll look to piece together a win streak when he toes the slab at Wrigley Field on Thursday against the Brewers. He was 1-1 with a 4.18 ERA with 26 strikeouts over 28 innings in five outings against Milwaukee in 2017.

Brewers' manager Craig Counsell announced late Friday that X-rays came back negative on the injured ankle of Orlando Arcia.

Arcia rolled his ankle while trying to get back to first base during the eighth inning of Friday's game against the Marlins. It sounds like he was able to avoid any significant injury and should return to the lineup in a day or two.

Mike Minor held the Mariners to one run in 5 1/3 innings but had to settle for a no-decision on Friday.

The only run he allowed came when Robinson Cano plated Dee Gordon with a fielder's choice grounder in the first inning. Minor struck out six batters against one walk and six base hits in the outing. His conversion from a reliever back into a starter has gone well so far this year. He has a 3.86 ERA with 20 strikeouts in 21 innings through four starts.

Amed Rosario went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored as the Mets beat the Braves 5-3 in 12 innings on Friday.

He doubled to plate the Mets' first run of the game in the third inning, then came home to score on a sacrifice fly lifted by Michael Conforto. He's been hitting ninth behind the pitcher this year and has been fairly productive. He has a .250 batting average with zero homers, eight RBI and 10 runs scored in 18 games.
Apr 21 - 12:20 AM

Jeurys Familia turned in a spotless 12th inning to snare a save against the Braves on Friday.

The Mets needed a quick and easy inning to end the long contest and Familia delivered it. He moves into a tie with Wade Davis for the most saves in the majors with eight. He has yet to allow a run in 11 1/3 innings of work this year.
Apr 21 - 12:16 AM

Noah Syndergaard turned in a quality start against the Braves on Friday, allowing three runs and notching six strikeouts in six innings.

He didn't issue a walk but did allow seven hits, including a solo dinger by second baseman Ozzie Albies. The game ended up going 12 innings, denying Thor a chance at a win. He is 2-0 with a fine 3.29 ERA after five starts. He has amassed 39 strikeouts against just five walks in 27 1/3 innings.
Apr 21 - 12:11 AM

Ryan Flaherty went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a stolen base against the Mets on Friday.

His double plated Dansby Swanson in the fourth inning. Flaherty was also caught stealing but that doesn't matter too much in most fantasy leagues. The veteran infielder has never been very good with the bat until this year. He is now slashing .362/.464/.500 with one homer and eight RBI in 69 plate appearances. Ride him while he's hot but don't expect it to last.
