Diamondbacks recalled RHP Addison Reed from Triple-A Reno.

Reed has posted a 1.74 ERA with 11 strikeouts over 10 1/3 innings since being demoted to Reno last month. He'll surely be used in low-leverage situations initially but could work his way into a setup role.

Diamondbacks placed RHP Randall Delgado on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to July 28, with a sprained ankle.

Delgado hurt the ankle running on the field prior to Tuesday's game. He's not expected to miss much time.

Joe Panik will miss a second straight game Wednesday due to back tightness.

Panik noted that it wasn't one play that caused the injury, but rather it's just "one of those things" you have to deal with during a long season. He's considered day-to-day. Ehire Adrianza will get another start at second base Wednesday.

FOX Sports' Jon Morosi thinks there's a "better chance" that the Tigers trade David Price than the White Sox trade Jeff Samardzija.

The White Sox suddenly have a better record than the Tigers after winning six straight and might decide to make a run at a Wild Card spot. It's certainly still possible another club makes an offer for Samardzija that they can't refuse, but the righty has pitched really well of late and Chicago could just settle on receiving draft pick compensation for him if he leaves as a free agent.

David Peralta went 3-for-4 with a double, a stolen base, two RBI, and a run scored as the Diamondbacks defeated the Mariners 8-4 on Tuesday.

Peralta gave the D'Backs an early 1-0 lead with an RBI single in the first inning. He tacked on an RBI double in the third, and scored after singling in the sixth. He walked and stole second base in the seventh but was stranded. Peralta has put up great numbers this season, batting .278/.352/.495 with nine home runs and 45 RBI.

Brett Gardner and his Yankees teammates took it to the Rangers on Tuesday, with the outfielder going 3-for-4 with a homer, three RBI and five runs scored in the 21-5 rout.

Gardner walked three times to go with his three hits, reaching base in six of his seven plate appearances on the night. The 31-year-old scored runs in the second, third, fourth and sixth innings before adding a two-run homer for good measure in the ninth. Gardner is batting .297/.379/.471 with 11 homers, 46 RBI, 15 steals and 72 runs scored, second-most in the American League.

Ender Inciarte had an RBI single and a solo home run in five at-bats Tuesday as the Diamondbacks ousted the Mariners.

Inciarte drilled a solo home run to right field off of Hisashi Iwakuma in the fifth inning, extending the Diamondbacks' lead to 3-1. In the eighth, he hit an RBI single to make it an 8-3 game. Inciarte has been swinging a hot bat since coming off of the disabled list, batting .348 (16-for-46) in 11 games. Overall, he carries a .296/.323/.397 line with three home runs, 26 RBI, 41 runs scored, and 10 stolen bases.
Jul 29 - 1:22 AM

Mike Zunino went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's loss to the Diamondbacks.

Zunino cut into the Diamondbacks' 2-0 lead with a solo home run off of Zack Godley in the third inning, registering his first round-tripper in the month of July. He's hitting a meager .181/.240/.319 with 10 home runs and 26 RBI.
