Tigers placed 2B Ian Kinsler on the 10-day disabled list with a left hamstring strain.

Kinsler has been playing through a minor hamstring injury, but apparently tweaked it again during Friday's game. Look for Andrew Romine and Dixon Machado to handle the bulk of the reps at second base in his absence.

Tigers designated RHP William Cuevas for assignment.

The 26-year-old appeared in just one game with the big league club, allowing four runs on three hits in 1/3 of an inning. He should pass through waivers unclaimed and continue to function as organizational bullpen depth.

Tigers purchased the contract of RHP Arcenio Leon from Triple-A Toledo.

The 30-year-old hurler registered a 3.15 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 17/5 K/BB ratio across 20 innings at Triple-A. He'll work in middle relief for a Tigers' bullpen that has struggled mightily this season.

Yonder Alonso (wrist) will take batting practice prior to Saturday's game and could be available as a pinch-hitter.

Alonso remains out of the A's starting lineup but is getting closer to a return. He has been sidelined since being hit by a pitch during Tuesday's game.

White Sox recalled OF Adam Engel from Triple-A Charlotte.

It's the first time in the big leagues for the 25-year-old outfielder. He's hitting just .221/.312/.463 with eight homers and 16 RBI in 42 games at Triple-A this season.

White Sox placed INF Tyler Saladino on the 10-day disabled list with back spasms.

It's an injury that developed during the week and has already caused Saladino to miss a few games. It's unclear how long he'll be sidelined, but it could be longer than the minimum 10 days.
May 27 - 11:10 AM

Michael Fulmer will start the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against the White Sox.

Fulmer and Tyler Danish had been scheduled to work in the nightcap, but they'll apparently pitch the first game instead while Buck Farmer and Derek Holland take the night game.
May 27 - 11:08 AM

Miguel Sano is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's showdown against Jake Odorizzi and the Rays.

Sano is in a bit of a funk at the plate, as he's 0-for-13 with 10 strikeouts in his last three games, so skipper Paul Molitor is giving him a day off to clear his head. Ehire Adrianza is starting at shortstop for the Twins while Eduardo Escobar slides over to cover the hot corner.
