Corey Seager (hamstring) is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.

Seager suffered a Grade 1 right hamstring strain on Friday and has been out of commission ever since. Chris Taylor is manning shortstop and hitting fifth in his place on Wednesday. A trip to the disabled list is looking increasingly likely for Seager at this point.

Yasiel Puig (hamstring, knee) is in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.

Puig was unable to play on Tuesday due to hamstring and knee concerns, but those minor ailments will not keep him down for Wednesday's contest. The outfielder will hit seventh when that one starts up.

Ty Blach allowed three runs (one earned) on seven hits over 6 1/3 innings in Wednesday's win over the Rockies.

This was a fair bit sharper of a performance than the seven-run debacle he turned in against the Mets this past Friday. In his rebound outing on Wednesday, Blach struck out six and walked three on the afternoon. He surrendered a two-run single to Nolan Arenado in the first inning, but settled in after those early struggles to allow just one more run the rest of the way. Up next on the docket, a road start against the Tigers. Blach will carry a 4.60 ERA and 1.35 WHIP into that one.

Braves optioned RHP Jason Hursh to Triple-A Gwinnett.

Hursh serves as the roster casualty with Bartolo Colon (oblique, back) returning from the disabled list on Wednesday. The 25-year-old right-hander has allowed one run on five hits over 5 2/3 innings of relief with the Braves this season. He could see an additional call back later this summer.
Jun 28 - 7:05 PM

Braves activated RHP Bartolo Colon from the 10-day disabled list.

Colon initially hit the disabled list with a left oblique strain on June 6. He came down with a stiff back two weeks later to push back his return date. The veteran right-hander will toe the rubber against the Padres on Wednesday night. He has struggled to a 7.78 ERA this season.
Jun 28 - 7:02 PM

Kyle Freeland surrendered four runs on seven hits over six innings in Wednesday's loss to the Giants.

Freeland struck out two and walked one on the afternoon. Three of the four runs on his line scored via the home run, as Nick Hundley burned him for a two-run shot in the fourth inning and Jae-gyun Hwang roughed him up with a solo shot in the sixth. Freeland will carry a 3.84 ERA and 1.45 WHIP into a home start against the Reds next time he toes the rubber.

Bud Norris (knee) will begin a minor league rehab assignment with Class-A Inland Empire on Thursday.

Norris might only need one game on the assignment before he is ready to be activated from the disabled list. He has been out with right knee inflammation since June 20. Prior to landing on the disabled list, he had been pitching to a 2.43 ERA with a 42/13 K/BB ratio and 11 saves in 33 1/3 frames.
Jun 28 - 6:51 PM

Cardinals transferred RHP Alex Meyer to the 60-day disabled list.

Meyer will not play this season after undergoing Tommy John surgery in February. He could start into a throw program soon, but there is still a long road ahead of him before he is ready to contribute.
