J.J. Hardy (shoulder) will need at least 3-4 rehab games before being activated from the disabled list.

He'll rest until Wednesday after being given a cortisone injection in his ailing left shoulder Saturday, so that means Hardy won't be activated until next weekend in a best-case scenario. Everth Cabrera will continue to fill in at shortstop for the Orioles.

Athletics recalled RHP Ryan Cook from Triple-A Nashville.

Cook failed to crack the Opening Day roster following a poor Cactus League showing, but he bounced back with five scoreless appearances at Nashville. The A's will use him in middle relief.

Athletics optioned RHP Kendall Graveman to Triple-A Nashville.

There was some buzz surrounding Graveman following a great spring training, but he then went out an posted an 8.27 ERA and 2.02 WHIP over his first four starts. Jesse Chavez was terrific in a spot start last week and will presumably slide into Graveman's spot in the rotation, at least until Jarrod Parker (elbow) is ready.

Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe reports that the Phillies haven't received any trade inquiries on Cole Hamels since late March.

It's not a surprise, as teams are aware that general manager Ruben Amaro isn't dropping his asking price for the left-hander. Hamels is off to a fine start this season with a 3.75 ERA, a 1.17 WHIP and 23 strikeouts over 24 innings. He remains a good bet to be dealt at some point prior to the trade deadline.

Greg Holland (pectoral) will play catch on Sunday.

It will be the first time he's thrown since being diagnosed with a Grade 1 right pectoral strain. Holland is eligible to be activated from the disabled list in a week, though it's possible he'll need a little more time than that. Wade Davis will continue to serve as the Royals' closer in the meantime.
Apr 26 - 11:53 AM

Pedro Strop (foot) is available out of the Cubs' bullpen Sunday.

He had been nursing a minor foot ailment but is fine now. Strop has been excellent so far this month, tossing 7 1/3 scoreless innings with a 0.55 WHIP and 10/2 K/BB ratio.
Apr 26 - 11:44 AM

Trevor Bauer (illness) could try to play catch on Sunday.

Bauer had to be scratched from his scheduled start on Saturday due to food poisoning. He's currently slated to take the ball on Tuesday, but it's possible he'll be pushed back again if he's not feeling up to it yet.
Apr 26 - 11:43 AM

Ryan Braun is not in the Brewers' lineup Sunday.

It's a routine day of rest for the struggling slugger. Aramis Ramirez is also getting a breather, as Gerardo Parra is in right field and Hector Gomez is at third base.
