Rockies recalled RHP Carlos Estevez from Triple-A Albuquerque.

Estevez has a hideous 8.10 ERA in 18 relief appearances this season in the majors, but the Rockies were desperate for a fresh bullpen arm. He'll work in low-leverage spots.
Jul 25 - 4:27 PM

Rockies optioned RHP Jairo Diaz to Triple-A Albuquerque.

Diaz has a 9.00 ERA and 3.40 WHIP in five innings of relief this season at the major league level. Carlos Estevez will take his spot on Colorado's active roster.
Jul 25 - 4:26 PM

Athletics transferred RHP Bobby Wahl from the 10-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.

It's just a procedural move. Wahl recently began a minor league rehab assignment and will be eligible to return to the A's active roster later this week.
Jul 25 - 4:25 PM

Jedd Gyorko is out of the Cardinals' starting lineup on Tuesday night.

Greg Garcia will start at third base and bat eighth versus Rockies right-hander Jon Gray. This appears to be a routine breather for Gyorko, who's fallen into a bit of a slump since the All-Star break.
Jul 25 - 4:23 PM

Matt Carpenter (quad) is back in the Cardinals' starting lineup Tuesday night against the Rockies.

Carpenter missed Monday's series opener against Colorado after making an early exit Sunday night against the Cubs due to right quad tightness. He'll start at first base and bat leadoff Tuesday versus right-hander Jon Gray.
Jul 25 - 4:19 PM

Harrison Bader is starting in center field and batting seventh Tuesday in his MLB debut against the Rockies.

Bader will likely be the primary fill-in at that position for the Cardinals while Dexter Fowler recovers from a left forearm strain. The talented 23-year-old was slashing .297/.354/.517 with 19 home runs and nine stolen bases in 97 games this season at Triple-A Memphis and is worth a pickup in standard mixed fantasy leagues.
Jul 25 - 4:17 PM

Athletics activated RHP Chris Bassitt from the 60-day disabled list; optioned him to Triple-A Nashville.

Bassitt has been pitching in the minors for nearly a month as he continues to work his way back from Tommy John surgery. He should join the A's bullpen at some point before the end of the 2017 regular season.
Jul 25 - 4:11 PM

George Springer (quad) is out of the Astros' starting lineup on Tuesday night.

Springer left Monday's series opener against the Phillies after experiencing some minor discomfort in his left quad. He's considered day-to-day. Derek Fisher will start in center field and bat sixth Tuesday versus Philadelphia right-hander Nick Pivetta.
