Channing Frye said he had appendectomy.

"I’m pretty sure that i got my appendix removed I’ll be able to dunk at least [three times] a month now," Frye said on Twitter. This probably explains why Frye was out for personal reasons on Thursday and now he’ll be targeting an early March return.

Vince Carter is expected to spend the rest of the season in Sacramento, as the Kings reportedly prefer not to buy him out.

There were rumors in Toronto that Carter and the Raptors might reunite if VC was bought out and became a free agent this month. However, it appears the Kings want to hold onto their vet. Yet, it sounds like there is an outside chance that the 41-year old Carter finishes his career where it began by signing a one year deal with the Raps over the summer.

Coach Stan Van Gundy told reporters that he was unsure when Reggie Jackson (ankle) would return to game action.

Next Tuesday will mark two months since Jackson suffered his Grade-3 right ankle sprain. He was initially projected to miss 6-8 weeks, but it sounds like Jackson "might need a few more weeks." He has shed his walking boot but has not yet been cleared to practice with the team. "I don’t have any preconceived notion at all of when he’ll be back," Van Gundy said on Wednesday. "When (the team doctors) tell me he’s back, he’s back." Ish Smith will continue to start at point guard, with Jameer Nelson backing him up.

Klay Thompson said that "hopefully" he will re-sign with the Warriors.

Thompson won't have an opportunity to test free agency until July of 2019, but he is already getting asked questions about potentially leaving Golden State. While being the offensive focal point of another squad would be ideal for his fantasy production, it sounds like Klay is content to play his role on the stacked Warriors. "Playing for one team your whole career is definitely special. Only so many guys have done it in professional sports, so it’ll be a goal of mine," said Thompson. "Hopefully it all works out."

Frank Ntilikina said he would love to start at point guard if coach Jeff Hornacek decides to replace Jarrett Jack in the starting lineup.

After the Knicks loss to the Wizards on Wednesday, Hornacek told reporters he would likely tinker with the starting lineup after the team returned from the All-Star break. The player most likely to be bumped to the bench is aging veteran Jarrett Jack. Ntilikina or newly acquired Emmanuel Mudiay are expected to inherit the starting PG gig. Either way, both Mudiay and Ntilikina should see additional minutes over the second half of the season.

C.J. Watson has signed with Turkish League team Usak Sportif.

Watson played 62 games for the Magic last season, averaging 4.5 points and 1.8 assists in 16.3 minutes. He's unlikely to sign with another NBA team.

Bogdan Bogdanovic led Team World to a 155-124 win over Team USA in the Rising Stars Game, scoring 26 points with six assists, four rebounds, two steals and seven 3-pointers.

He was lights out from deep and some of them were from way downtown. Looking ahead, the Kings don't have much to play for except lottery balls, but Bogdanovic gives them a reason to be hopeful for the future and we're going to see him run a lot of offense alongside De'Aaron Fox after the break. "I trust him with the ball," Kings head coach Dave Joerger said. "I don’t think he’s a shooter, I think he’s a playmaker who can shoot." His teammate Buddy Hield added 29 points, Ben Simmons racked up 11 points, 13 assists, six rebounds and four steals, while Jaylen Brown led Team USA with 35 points.

Coach Mike D'Antoni said recently-acquired center Brandan Wright will be "insurance, mostly" for the frontcourt depth.

"He’s to me the type of center we like," D'Antoni said. "He’s long, vertical spacing and athletic, can run. He’s another kind of Clint [Capela]. We have Nene and Tarik [Black] being one type and them being another type. That’s the depth. He’s a good guy. He’s going to be a good locker room game. All that’s positive." Wright probably won't see minutes unless the Rockets are missing at least two of the aforementioned guys.
