Rockies transferred RHP Jordan Lyles from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.
Tests showed that the fracture of the middle metacarpal on Lyles' left hand hasn't healed yet. The righty was also involved in a car accident Friday, though that's not the reason his return is being delayed. "It was a minor accident, but he doesn't look real pretty," manager Walt Weiss said. Lyles won't be eligible to return until early August and it's not clear whether he'll even be ready at that time.
Alfredo Simon has been added to the National League All-Star team.
It's not clear whose spot he's taking, but there are four NL starters Sunday that need to be replaced. We'd rather see someone like Stephen Strasburg make it, but Simon has had a great first half with a 2.70 ERA and 1.05 WHIP.
Rockies released RHP Manny Corpas.
Corpas requested and received his release after evidently being told he wasn't going to be called up anytime soon. The 31-year-old holds a 5.29 ERA with 42 strikeouts over 47 2/3 innings at the Triple-A level this season.
Blue Jays sent RHP Bobby Korecky outright to Triple-A Buffalo.
He had been designated for assignment but has cleared waivers and will remain in the organization. Korecky has allowed three runs over 3 1/3 relief frames for the Jays this season.
Oswaldo Arcia is not in Sunday's lineup due to a stomach bug.
Arcia revealed that he was throwing up Saturday's night. He should be fine after the All-Star break. Chris Parmelee is in right field Sunday in his place.
Jeff Bianchi is not in Sunday's lineup due to a sore right elbow.
Elian Herrera is making his first big league start at shortstop in Bianchi's place. Bianchi should be fine after the All-Star break.
Tyler Clippard has been added to the National League All-Star team.
It's not clear whose spot he's taking, but there are four NL starters Sunday that need to be replaced. There are others that are more deserving, but there's no doubt Clippard has had a great year, posting a 2.03 ERA with 53 strikeouts over 40 innings.
Matt Kemp is not in the Dodgers' lineup Sunday.
It's just a day off. Carl Crawford is getting the start in left field in Kemp's place.
