Eric Thames went 2-for-4 with two homers and four RBI in a loss to the Phillies on Sunday.

Thames also walked. The 35-year-old power-hitter hit a solo shot off of Aaron Nola in the top of the first, and he brought Milwaukee new life with a three-run shot off of Hector Naris in the bottom of the ninth to make it a 10-9 game. He now has 9 homers in just 27 games this year, and his OPS bumps up to .973 in that time frame.

Jake Thompson picked up a one-pitch save against the Brewers on Sunday.

Thompson came in to replaced a completely ineffective Hector Neris after Neris allowed a three-run shot to make the score 10-9. It's the second save of the year for Thompson, and they've come in wildly different ways, with the first being a three-inning save against the Marlins way back on April 7. He still owns a 7.00 ERA, and likely won't get too many more opportunities in 2018.

Chase Anderson was fortunate to pick up a no decision while allowing six runs in 5 1/3 innings on Sunday against the Phillies.

He walked two and struck out five. Anderson was outstanding against the Cubs on Tuesday while allowing just one hit and no runs in seven innings. He did not back that up with a strong effort. We've seen this version of Anderson too often in 2018, and his ERA is now up to 4.54 on the year over 77 1/3 innings. He'll attempt to find the magic again against the Cardinals on Friday.

Yu Darvish (triceps) is scheduled to throw live batting practice on Tuesday in Chicago.

Darvish played catch on Sunday without any issues, after throwing a 35-pitch bullpen session on Friday. He appears to be making tangible progress toward a return to the Cubs' rotation. If all goes well Tuesday, he could then be cleared for a minor league rehab start.

Aaron Nola struggled while allowing four runs over 4 1/3 innings in a no decision against the Brewers on Sunday.

Nola gave up seven hits, and he also walked four. He's had spurts of ineffectiveness with his control as of late, with three-of-five starts seeing him walk three or more. It's tough to be too hard on the right-hander considering how good he's been in 2018, as he still owns a 2.55 ERA with 94 strikeout in 95 1/3 innings. He's back on the mound against the Nationals on Saturday.

Maikel Franco went 2-for-4 with a homer and four RBI in a 10-9 victory over the Brewers on Sunday.

There was plenty of offense to be found in this one, and Franco provided much of it for the Phillies. His homer was a two-run shot off of Chase Anderson with one out, and it ups his total on the season to nine. He picked up two more RBI on a single in the seventh, giving the third baseman 36 on the season. Franco's overall line of .247/.292/.424 still leaves a lot to be desired, but because of his bat speed, he's capable of games like this. There just haven't been enough over the past few seasons.

Caleb Joseph will be recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday.

The Orioles optioned out starting catcher Chance Sisco after Sunday's game, so Joseph will share the catching duties with Austin Wynns upon his return. The 31-year-old was hitting just .182/.203/.325 with one homer and three RBI in 80 plate appearances prior to his demotion in mid-May.

Matt Davidson went 1-for-4 with a homer in a loss to the Tigers on Sunday.

The homer was the only run of the game, as it was a solo shot off of Blaine Hardy in the second inning. He also struck out, which gave him 77 in just 54 games in 2018. That being said, he's on pace to hit 28 homers right now, and his .355 on-base percentage and .481 slugging percentage are both solid.
