Padres released INF James Darnell.

Darnell cleared waivers after being designated for assignment last week. The 26-year-old is done for the season due to a left shoulder injury and could require another surgery.

Jose Reyes (ankle) went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a stolen base Wednesday in his latest rehab game with High-A Dunedin.

Reyes is now 5-for-12 over his first three rehab games. The Jays' shortstop will likely move to a higher minor league affiliate soon, but he should rejoin the Blue Jays at some point next week if all goes according to plan.
Jun 19 - 2:27 PM

The Pirates have promoted prospect first baseman Stetson Allie to High-A Bradenton.

Allie was a bust as a pitching prospect, but he has made an impressive adjustment since being converted into a position player last year. The 22-year-old batted .324/.414/.607 with 17 home runs, 61 RBI and a 1.021 OPS in 66 games with Class A West Virginia. It should be interesting to see how he fares against more advanced competition.
Jun 19 - 2:23 PM

Angel Pagan (hamstring) will begin a minor league rehab assignment Thursday with High-A San Jose.

Pagan received a platelet-rich plasma injection in his hamstring last week and is no longer dealing with soreness. He's slated to play five innings in his return to game action Thursday. It's not clear how many games he'll need, but he appears on track to rejoin the Giants before the end of the month.
Jun 19 - 2:19 PM

Brewers recalled OF Josh Prince from Triple-A Nashville.

Prince will provide some outfield depth while Norichika Aoki is away on paternity leave. The 25-year-old went 1-for-5 in six games with the Brewers earlier this season.
Jun 19 - 2:17 PM

Brewers placed OF Norichika Aoki on the paternity leave list.

Aoki has left the team to be present for the birth of his second child. He is permitted to be away for 24 to 72 hours. Josh Prince has been called up to replace him on the active roster.
Jun 19 - 2:14 PM

Padres recalled OF Jaff Decker from Triple-A Tucson.

He'll take the place of Everth Cabrera (hamstring) on the active roster. Decker didn't get an at-bat during a brief stint with the Padres last week, but he should stick around a bit longer this time.
Jun 19 - 2:12 PM

Padres placed SS Everth Cabrera on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 17, with a mild left hamstring strain.

Cabrera suffered the injury trying to steal second base on Sunday. He'll be eligible to return around the start of July and there's a chance he'll be ready by then. Alexi Amarista and Pedro Ciriaco should see playing time at shortstop when he's sidelined.
