Mitch Moreland (elbow) is not in the Rangers' starting lineup on Saturday night.

But he was able to take pregame batting practice, so that's a good indication that he will be able to avoid minor elbow surgery. Shin-Soo Choo is serving as the designated hitter for Texas on Saturday against the Mariners and Carlos Peguero is in right field. Moreland can be considered day-to-day.

Court documents show Josh Hamilton has filed for divorce from his wife Katie in Tarrant County, Texas.

Hamilton filed for divorce in late February, around the same time reports surfaced of his latest drug relapse. Hamilton was able to avoid suspension from Major League Baseball, much to the chagrin of his own team. The Angels don't want to pay the underachieving 33-year-old outfielder and have been publicly feuding with him since the spring. He hasn't even been healthy enough to play thanks to a shoulder injury. Los Angeles' five-year deal with Hamilton is looking worse by the day.

Roberto Perez went 3-for-4 with a home run on Saturday, powering the Indians to a 4-2 victory over the Twins in Minnesota.

Perez took Twins starter Phil Hughes deep in the third inning to get the Indians on the board. He's being counted on to pick up the slack offensively with Yan Gomes sidelined and has responded by hitting .300/.318/.600. He's worth a look in two-catcher leagues for as long as he remains the starter.
Apr 18 - 4:52 PM

Danny Salazar racked up 10 strikeouts over six innings as he defeated the Twins in his season debut on Saturday.

The young right-hander surrendered two runs on six hits and a pair of walks on the afternoon. The Indians are committed to keeping Salazar in the rotation and he showed a glimpse of why that is with this terrific start. He'll look to keep things rolling when he takes the ball against the Tigers in Detroit on Friday.
Apr 18 - 4:50 PM

Kurt Suzuki belted his second home run of the season on Saturday but it wasn't enough for the Twins to overcome the Indians.

Suzuki tagged Indians' starter Danny Salazar for a solo blast in the seventh inning, cutting the deficit to 4-2, but that would be as close as the Twins would get. He finished the day 1-for-3 plus a walk and is now hitting .214/.313/.429 on the season.
Apr 18 - 4:49 PM

Aaron Harang yielded three runs over six innings in a 5-3 win over the Nationals on Saturday.

Harang allowed seven hits (including a long home run to Bryce Harper) and a pair of walks to go along with six strikeouts. The game was tied after six innings, but Phillies scored in the top of the seventh to put him in line for the victory. The veteran right-hander has delivered quality starts in each of his first three turns this season and owns a 1.96 ERA and 15/5 K/BB ratio in 18 1/3 innings. He's not someone to target in mixed fantasy leagues, but he's giving the Phillies everything they were hoping for and then some.
Apr 18 - 4:47 PM

Jordan Zimmermann gave up four runs (two earned) over 6 1/3 innings in a loss to the Phillies on Saturday.

Zimmermann didn't get any help from his defense, namely from Ian Desmond, but he wasn't particularly sharp either. He gave up four hits and four walks while striking out three batters. It's worth noting that he didn't walk more than three batters in any of his 32 starts last season. After back-to-back uncharacteristic outings, he'll look to bounce back against the Marlins next week.
Apr 18 - 4:46 PM

Phil Hughes struggled in a losing effort against the Indians on Saturday, allowing four runs on eight hits over 6 2/3 innings.

Hughes struck out three while walking one on the afternoon. While he did enough to keep the Twins in the ballgame, he was simply outdueled by Danny Salazar on the other side of the diamond. Now 0-3 on the season, Hughes will look to improve upon a 5.30 ERA and 1.39 WHIP when he takes on the Mariners in Seattle on Friday.
