Carlos Beltran is not in the Yankees' lineup Wednesday.

It appears to simply be a day off. Garrett Jones is in right field while Beltran sits.

Starling Marte is not in the Pirates' lineup Wednesday.

Marte is just getting a breather, as he's in the midst of a 0-for-20 slump. Jose Tabata is handling left field.
Jun 3 - 1:28 PM

Cameron Maybin (groin) is back in the Braves' lineup Wednesday.

Maybin sat out the last two contests with a minor groin injury but is ready to go now. He sports a nice .290/.371/.409 batting line for Atlanta this season.
Jun 3 - 1:20 PM

Ryan Braun has flown to Los Angeles in order to receive another cryotherapy shot in his right thumb.

Brewers manager Craig Counsell said it's a pre-planned thing rather than Braun having a setback. Obviously, it's something to keep a close eye on, though, with Braun having hit just .194/.242/.226 over his last seven games. It's possible he'll be ready to play by Friday, but Counsell isn't counting on Braun until Sunday.

Twins recalled RHP Michael Tonkin from Triple-A Rochester.

He'll be the 26th man for Wednesday's doubleheader against the Red Sox. Tonkin has put up a 5.14 ERA with seven strikeouts over seven relief innings with the big club this season.
Jun 3 - 11:49 AM

Red Sox recalled LHP Robbie Ross from Triple-A Pawtucket.

He'll serve as the 26th man during Wednesday's doubleheader versus the Twins. Ross holds a 5.29 ERA and 1.53 WHIP across 15 relief appearances for the Red Sox this season.
Jun 3 - 11:47 AM

Josh Hamilton (hamstring) is expected to sit out again Wednesday.

Hamilton is dealing with some tightness in his left hamstring and will miss a second straight game. It's not viewed as a big deal, as the outfielder remains day-to-day.
Jun 3 - 11:46 AM

Ricky Nolasco (ankle) is hoping to start on Saturday versus the Brewers.

Nolasco departed his last outing with a right ankle impingement. He'll throw a bullpen session Thursday to see if he can give it a go Saturday, but Twins manager Paul Molitor was told by the club's trainers that it's 50/50 as to whether Nolasco will be ready or if he'll need a disabled list stint.
