Steelers RE Cameron Heyward was carted off the field with an ankle or foot injury in Friday night's third preseason game.

The extent of Heyward's injury is unknown, but his loss would be significant for any amount of time. Heyward is coming off a seven-sack season and also excels in run defense. The Steelers lost NT Steve McLendon in free agency.

Jimmy Garoppolo completed 9-of-15 passes for 57 yards in the Patriots' third preseason game Friday night.

Garoppolo got the start, but he only played three possessions before giving up the reins to Tom Brady, who immediately led the team on two scoring drives. Garoppolo took back over for a couple possessions on both sides of the half. Garoppolo was not terrible Friday night, but he seemed to struggle when pressured, missed a couple open receivers down field, and should have turned the ball over at least twice. He should be a serviceable starter while Brady is suspended, but it is unlikely Garoppolo puts up big fantasy numbers. He is certainly not worth using Week 1 against the Cardinals.

Gary Barnidge caught 2-of-3 targets for six yards in the Browns' third preseason game.

With Josh Gordon and Corey Coleman making their first appearances of the preseason, Barnidge took a bit of a back seat. If Barnidge is done for the preseason, he ends it catching 6-of-9 targets for 39 yards and one touchdown. Once the Browns field all three of Gordon, Coleman, and Terrelle Pryor, Barnidge's targets may suffer. Barnidge is more of a mid-to-low TE1.

C.J. Spiller rushed four times for 20 yards and caught 3-of-3 targets for -1 yards in the Saints' third preseason game.

The biggest takeaway is Spiller ran extensively with the first-team offense. He also got first-team run in the second week of preseason, making this a recurring theme. Spiller "started" and essentially rotated evenly with Mark Ingram when Drew Brees was in the game. Spiller seemingly came close to breaking a few big runs, but was caught by his shoelace once and dragged down in the open field on another. Spiller has burned fantasy owners plenty in the past, but he's worth a look in the late rounds of PPR leagues. He'd be easy to drop if he does nothing when the real games start.

Tom Brady completed 3-of-9 passes for 76 yards and a touchdown Friday night against the Panthers.

Jimmy Garoppolo got the start, but Brady came on after three possessions for his first work of the preseason. Brady started strong, dropping a dime over Chris Hogan's shoulder for a 33-yard score in the second quarter, but he struggled to get anything going before handing the reins back to Garoppolo late in the first half. Unlikely to see any snaps in the final preseason game, the next time we see Brady should be Week 5 against the Browns.

Willie Snead caught 4-of-4 targets for 58 yards and a touchdown in the Saints' third preseason game.

The Saints' top receiver with Drew Brees in the game, Snead's score came from 17 yards out on a play where he got the best of Steelers rookie S Sean Davis. Snead isn't a sexy fantasy pick, but he plays on a high-octane passing team and is used creatively, getting matchups with linebackers and safeties at times. He's a high-floor investment as a WR3 who can usually be drafted as a WR4.

Robert Griffin III completed just 8-of-14 passes for 119 yards and one touchdown in the Browns' third preseason game Friday night.

The Bucs field one of the least-inspiring pass-rush groups in the league, but they recorded five sacks on RGIII in the first half, while knocking him down a number of other times. They especially got after the quarterback on third down, as coach Hue Jackson dialed up a lot of long-developing plays only to see his offensive line not be able to hold its blocks. RGIII finished the night on a high note, however, hitting Josh Gordon deep for a 43-yard touchdown. Gordon did all the work, though, manhandling pint-sized CB Brent Grimes and adjusting to the ball in the air. Last week, RGIII looked phenomenal. Tonight, he was pummeled. The inconsistency is what keeps him a boom-or-bust QB2.

Tyrod Taylor completed 2-of-5 passes for 11 yards and rushed once for a gain of five in the Bills' third preseason game.

Taylor played very briefly, as the Bills took him out of the game early in favor of E.J. Manuel. Taylor took a sack, and afterwards coach Rex Ryan expressed remorse for putting Taylor out there at all. Taylor recently signed a new six-year, $92 million contract that is actually a one-year deal worth $9.5 million with a 2017 option worth nearly $28 million. The best news for Taylor is Sammy Watkins looked healthy coming off offseason foot surgery.
