Joe Panik (concussion) will begin a minor league rehab assignment Tuesday with Triple-A Sacramento.

Panik came down with post-concussion symptoms after he took a hard tag to the head last Sunday, but he's ready to return to game action. Assuming all goes well, it shouldn't be long before he rejoins the Giants.

Jon Jay - OF - Cubs

Jon Jay will start in center field and bat leadoff Tuesday against the Reds.

Albert Almora, Jr. started in center field and batted leadoff on Sunday, but Jay will draw the start against righty Homer Bailey. Meanwhile, Kyle Schwarber is making another start out of the No. 2 spot in the order.
Aug 22 - 2:51 PM

Jose Peraza is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Cubs.

He'll take a seat against right-hander John Lackey. Scooter Gennett will draw the start at second base and bat fifth.

White Sox recalled RHP Lucas Giolito from Triple-A Charlotte.

Giolito was originally scheduled to start in Monday's doubleheader, but he was pushed back to take Reynaldo Lopez's spot in the rotation Tuesday against the Twins. Acquired from the Nationals as part of the Adam Eaton deal, the 23-year-old posted a 4.48 ERA and 134/59 K/BB ratio in 128 2/3 innings over 24 starts in Triple-A this year. His stock has faded somewhat, so he's more of a wait-and-see option in standard mixed fantasy leagues at this time.

Red Sox recalled RHP Hector Velazquez from Triple-A Pawtucket.

He'll replace Matt Barnes (back) on the active roster. Velazquez has appeared in four games with the Red Sox this season and owns a 2.39 ERA over 17 starts in Triple-A. He'll pitch in middle relief.
Aug 22 - 2:00 PM

Red Sox placed RHP Matt Barnes on the 10-day disabled list with a low back strain.

This comes after Barnes allowed both batters he faced to reach base in Monday's loss to the Indians. There's no clear timetable for his return. The 27-year-old has appeared in 59 games this season while posting a 3.60 ERA and 66/27 K/BB ratio in 60 innings.

Vince Velasquez will undergo surgery to repair a vascular issue with his right middle finger.

Phillies manager Pete Mackanin told Meghan Montemurro of the News Journal that the issue has been clogging blood flow to his middle finger. This would explain the numbness he has been experiencing. Velasquez is officially done for the year and his role for 2018 could be up in the air.
Aug 22 - 1:28 PM

Michael Feliz (shoulder) is scheduled to begin a minor league rehab assignment Tuesday with Double-A Corpus Christi.

Teammates Evan Gattis, Tony Sipp, and Will Harris are also set to begin rehab assignments on Tuesday. Feliz has been out since the start of August with right shoulder discomfort, but he appears to be on track for a return around the start of September.
