The Pirates are expected to call up right-hander Edgar Santana from Triple-A Indianapolis.

The Pirates have yet to make an official announcement, but Santana wrote via Instagram that he's on his way to Pittsburgh. The move will give the Pirates an extra arm out of their bullpen. Santana has allowed six runs (five earned) on 10 hits and five walks over 7 2/3 innings at the major league level this season.

Hisashi Iwakuma (shoulder) was scheduled to throw a bullpen session Monday.

Iwakuma is ready to test his shoulder again after he struggled with his mechanics during a simulated game earlier this month. He's already experienced multiple setbacks, so the Mariners can't count on him at this point. Iwakuma has been out since early May.

David Phelps (elbow) was scheduled to throw a 20-pitch simulated inning on Monday.

Assuming all went well, Phelps could be activated as soon as Wednesday. The recently-acquired right-hander has been out for a couple of weeks with an elbow impingement.

Greg Holland has allowed nine runs on eight hits and five walks over his last five appearances.

Holland has seen his ERA jump from 1.56 to 3.22 along the way. He was pulled in the middle of an appearance after entering a tie game on Saturday against the Brewers. Rockies manager Bud Black said Holland feels fine and the Rockies' closer said he simply hasn't been "executing quality pitches." He also admitted to tinkering with his mechanics. Fatigue could be a factor in his first full season back from Tommy John surgery, but the Rockies plan to continue relying on him in the ninth inning.

Aaron Judge had his left shoulder iced heavily after Sunday's game.

Judge said twice that his shoulder "doesn't bother me at all," with Yankees manager Joe Girardi chalking his second-half struggles up to mechanics. Still, it's fair to wonder if there's at least a partial connection here. Judge is batting just .169/.329/.355 during the second half, but Girardi plans to keep him in the No. 3 spot for now.

Shelby Miller has hired Kyle Thousand of Roc Nation Sports as his new agent.

Miller was previously represented by CAA Sports. The 26-year-old underwent Tommy John surgery back in May and will likely be out until around midseason next year. He's arbitration-eligible for one more year after making $4.7 million in 2017.

Jayson Werth (foot) went 1-for-3 with a single Monday in his first minor league rehab game with Triple-A Syracuse.

Werth, out since early June with a bone bruise in his left foot, also played five innings in left field. He appears on track for a return around the end of the month and should provide a boost to the banged up Nats' outfield.

Trea Turner (wrist) went 0-for-3 with a strikeout Monday in his first minor league rehab game with Triple-A Syracuse.

Turner also played five innings at shortstop in his first game action since late June. The dynamic shortstop will likely need a few more rehab games as he works his way back from a fractured right wrist. He could be a difference-maker down the stretch in fantasy leagues.
