Matt Boyd was lifted from his start Tuesday night against the Twins due to an apparent injury.

Boyd allowed just one hit over four scoreless innings to begin the evening, but he walked the first two batters he faced in the bottom of the fifth and then walked off the field with a trainer. There should be an update soon from Target Field.

Albert Pujols drove in his first run in 10 games with an RBI single Tuesday against the Blue Jays.

Pujols' base knock in the fourth inning plated Mike Trout to get the Angels on the board. It was the first run that he's driven in since May 9, although he still has a respectable 22 RBI on the season. Pujols is hitting just .234 with one home run over his last 20 games.

Miguel Sano (hamstring) went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer in a rehab game Tuesday night with Triple-A Rochester.

The home run sailed out just right of dead-center, per Rochester Red Wings play-by-play man Josh Whetzel. Sano had been 1-for-8 with three walks since beginning his rehab assignment this past Saturday. He should be cleared to return to the Twins' active roster by the end of the week.

Khris Davis has been sent for an MRI on his right groin.

Davis was diagnosed with a right groin strain after leaving Sunday's series finale against the Blue Jays and A's manager Bob Melvin said on the radio Monday that the 30-year-old slugger would likely be placed on the disabled list, but it hasn't happened yet. "We'll just see where he's at," Melvin told reporters Tuesday. "He's on the roster today. We'll see what the results are. If we have to carry him for a little bit, that would probably be a good option, based on the fact he could maybe come back sooner than later, but I'm not sure what the results of that are going to be."

Jeremy Hellickson exited his start Tuesday night against the Padres with an apparent hand injury.

It looked to be a blister. Hellickson had worked 5 1/3 innings of one-run ball versus the Padres, with five strikeouts and just one walk. The 31-year-old right-hander owns an impressive 2.13 ERA, 0.89 WHIP, and 31/6 K/BB ratio in 38 total innings (seven starts) this season for Washington.

Mets signed LHP Aaron Laffey to a minor league contract.

Laffey had been pitching for the Somerset Patriots of the independent Atlantic League. The 33-year-old left-hander last appeared in a major league game in 2015.

Stephen Vogt (shoulder) said he's hoping to play in 2019.

Vogt underwent season-ending surgery on his right shoulder last week, but it was less invasive than anticipated and shouldn't threaten his career as long as the rehab process goes smoothly. "Obviously, there is a lot of hard work ahead of me," Vogt said, "but there is some hope in the future that I can regain full strength and be back." The 33-year-old catcher is arbitration-eligible this winter, though the Brewers figure to non-tender him.
May 22 - 8:37 PM

Wilson Ramos left Tuesday's game against the Red Sox with a left hand contusion.

Ramos was struck on the glove hand by a ball in the top of the third inning. It's unclear if X-rays were taken, but the Rays are listing him as day-to-day -- which is promising. The 30-year-old catcher has been on fire lately and could be big-time trade bait for Tampa Bay this summer.
