Giants recalled RHP Sandy Rosario from Triple-A Fresno.

He'll provide a fresh arm for the bullpen with Santiago Casilla (knee) headed to the disabled list. Rosario appeared in one game with the Giants earlier this month and owns a 3.33 ERA and 28/8 K/BB ratio over 24 1/3 innings this season in Triple-A.

Giants recalled 1B Brett Pill from Triple-A Fresno.

Pill was just sent down to the minors over the weekend, but he's eligible to return since Ryan Vogelsong and Santiago Casilla are headed to the disabled list. The 28-year-old went 2-for-6 in his first stint with the big club and will function as a backup first baseman and right-handed bat off the bench.

Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said Tuesday that Samuel Deduno will be called up from Triple-A Rochester to start Friday's game against the Tigers.

In other words, Kyle Gibson's major league debut will have to wait. Deduno, who had a breakthrough performance during the World Baseball Classic, has a 2.70 ERA and 17/10 K/BB ratio in 16 2/3 innings over three starts with Triple-A Rochester since returning from a groin injury. He'll have a pretty tough first matchup, so fantasy owners should steer clear for now.

Yankees sent INF Alberto Gonzalez outright to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Gonzalez passed through waivers unclaimed after he was designated for assignment over the weekend following the acquisition of Reid Brignac. The 30-year-old will function as organizational depth for New York.

Angels sent OF Scott Cousins outright to Triple-A Salt Lake.

Cousins cleared waivers after being designated for assignment over the weekend. He'll serve as outfield depth in Triple-A.

Jaime Garcia will visit Dr. James Andrews on Tuesday for a second opinion on his left shoulder.

Garcia was placed on the disabled list over the weekend with a left shoulder strain and could be facing season-ending surgery. Tyler Lyons will fill his spot in the rotation for now, but the Cardinals are hoping to have Jake Westbrook (elbow) back from the disabled list soon.

Logan Morrison (knee) went 2-for-5 with a pair of singles Monday in his first rehab game with High-A Jupiter.

Morrison, who is coming back from knee surgery, served as the designated hitter. The 25-year-old is permitted to spend 20 days on his rehab assignment and will likely need most of it to shake the rust and get comfortable. However, assuming all goes well, he should join the Marlins' lineup in early June.

Josh Johnson (triceps) allowed one run over three innings Monday in his first minor league rehab start with High-A Dunedin.

It was Johnson's first game action since April 21. He gave up three hits while striking out five and walking none. The Blue Jays want him to make at least one more rehab start, but he's on track to return in the early part of June.
