Gordon Hayward (leg) isn't ready to travel with the Celtics on road trips yet.

According to coach Brad Stevens, the Celtics want Hayward to do more conditioning and strength work on an anti-gravity treadmill before clearing him to travel. "It doesn’t look like it’s any time in the next couple of weeks," Stevens said. "We talked the other day. He’s gonna do another alter-G process or progress starting on Sunday where he goes from 60 percent of his body weight all the way to 100, and then once he gets to 100 — once he can do stuff where he’s running or jumping, then it makes sense to bring him on the road." There's been no indication that we'll see Hayward return this season.

Rockets coach Mike D'Antoni has been impressed by veteran Joe Johnson.

"Joe Johnson played really well," coach Mike D’Antoni said on Friday. "He’s getting more comfortable, especially in the second half. I’ve known Joe forever and he’s a machine. He just keeps playing, doesn’t get tired, he’s strong, and just really understands his game. If you watch it, he’s really good." Johnson has played 31 and 22 minutes in his first two games as a Rocket, a number that will surely go down once Eric Gordon gets healthy. There's no reason to own Johnson outside of very deep leagues.

Dirk Nowitzki said he's planning on playing one more season.

"I signed up last summer for two years," Nowitzki said. "I would love to play next year again. But we’ll kind of see how the rest of the season plays out and how I feel in the summer. But as of now, I want to play again next year. I feel OK. I only missed one game. So the body is holding up OK." While this is good news, this also gives Dallas even more reason to be careful with him down the stretch.

76ers coach Brett Brown said he played Richaun Holmes on Saturday to make sure his entire rotation stays engaged.

In other words, it's not a lock that he will be used over Amir Johnson again. "Right now my motivation is I know that Richaun has value, I know that he has things that he can bring to the table and I respect how he’s handled himself when he wasn’t playing that much," Brown said. "I know it’s my job to keep him alive and tonight was an example of that and I thought he did very very well." Holmes ended up with four points, eight rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block in 21 minutes, and it's almost absurd at this point that Brown has been using Amir Johnson over him this long. We'll see what happens Sunday.

Troy Williams scored 14 points in just 12 minutes on Saturday vs. Boston, hitting 6-of-9 shots with four rebounds and one steal.

He had four points in six minutes during his debut and is fitting in nicely with the Knicks. "It’s me trying to fit into the system,’’ Williams said. "They’ve been doing this for the season. I’m not trying to change nothing. I’m trying to fit into the program. It’s coming naturally." The Knicks wanted to get more athletic and Williams can certainly bring that to the table. With the Knicks in rebuilding mode, we could see a lot more of Williams if he continues to play well.

Kosta Koufos (illness) returned to action Saturday against the Lakers and he finished with six points across 14 minutes.

Koufos also was able to gather five rebounds with a plus-10 rating, and he finished 3-of-5 from the field, but he did not offer any other offensive or defensive statistics. If you normally rely upon him in deeper fantasy leagues it appears safe to get back into the active lineup, especially in cumulative formats with a five-game week starting on Monday.

Buddy Hield went for 21 points across 31 minutes off the bench in Saturday's victory against the Lakers.

Hield hit 8-of-17 from the field, including 5-of-10 from behind the 3-point line, and he added eight rebounds with an assist and just three turnovers. He, Bogdan Bogdanovic and Willie Cauley-Stein took their games to another level on Saturday, but not many of their teammates joined them for the ride. Hield is averaging 20.0 PPG, 8.5 RPG and 2.5 APG over the past two outings since the All-Star break.
Feb 25 - 2:31 AM

De'Aaron Fox (eye) posted 13 points with six assists and a steal over 30 minutes in Saturday's game against the Lakers.

Fox came down with pink eye last Saturday in Los Angeles, and by Sunday morning it had moved to both eyes. His eyes are still blood shot, but he was feeling much better and able to make it through the entire game against the Lakers without any issue. He'll be good to go for the upcoming week, and the Kings have a rare five-game schedule on top starting on Monday against Minnesota.
