Orioles reassigned OF Chris Dickerson to minor league camp.

Dickerson had a decent camp, particularly in the power department (four homers in 38 at-bats) but didn't do enough to crack the O's Opening Day roster. The 34-year-old journeyman hasn't played in the big leagues since 2014 and he's running out of chances to make it back.

Orioles reassigned 2B Robert Andino to minor league camp.

Andino was looking to make the team as a backup infielder but lost out to Ryan Flaherty. Before a 13-game stint with the Marlins last year, Andino hadn't played in the big leagues since 2013. He'll begin the year at Triple-A Norfolk.

Orioles optioned RHP Logan Verrett to Triple-A Norfolk.

Verrett labored through a difficult spring, racking up a sluggish 8.10 ERA over nine games in the Grapefruit League. With that said, the 26-year-old has a proven track record as a long reliever/spot starter and should see time with Baltimore before the year is out.

Orioles optioned RHP Alec Asher to Triple-A Norfolk.

Asher was traded to the Orioles from Philadelphia two days ago for cash or a player to be named later. He had a rough go of it in the Grapefruit League, compiling a 7.11 ERA over seven outings. The 25-year-old will get a chance with the big club at some point, but not right away.
Mar 30 - 6:02 PM

ESPN's Jerry Crasnick reports RHP Mark Lowe will sign with the Mariners.

It's expected to be a minor league contract. Lowe was surprisingly let go by the Tigers earlier this week. The 34-year-old racked up an impressive 1.96 ERA in 2015 but fell apart last year by logging a lackluster 7.11 ERA over 54 appearances. This will be Lowe's third stint with Seattle.

David Paulino (elbow) will begin a throwing program in the next day or two.

He's been sidelined by a bone bruise in his right elbow. Paulino will remain at the Astros' spring training facility in Florida during his rehab. The 23-year-old made his big league debut last season, allowing four runs over seven innings as a September call-up.

Collin McHugh (arm) will open the season on the 10-day disabled list.

The rest of the team already left for Houston, but McHugh will stay behind and pitch a simulated game on Saturday. He's expected to throw 75 pitches or five innings—whichever one comes first. After that, McHugh will likely make one minor league rehab start before joining the Astros' rotation sometime in mid-April. The 29-year-old recorded a 4.34 ERA over 33 starts for Houston in 2016.

Carter Capps (elbow) will pitch a couple of simulated innings next week.

Capps struck out two in a scoreless inning Thursday against the Rockies, topping out at 95 mph. If his simulated work goes well next week, he'll begin a rehab assignment shortly after. He's on track to return to the Padres by mid-April.
