Cody Allen turned in a spotless ninth inning to lock down a save against the Cubs on Wednesday.

He had no difficulties protecting a three-run lead while earning his fifth save of the season. Allen doesn't get much fanfare but has been one of the best closers in the game for several years running. He has yet to allow a run this season.

Andrew Miller will undergo an MRI to get more info on the tightness in his left hamstring.

Cleveland manager Terry Francona told reporters that the initial prognosis is that it's not a serious injury. Francona also noted that Miller went through a similar issue a couple years ago, and that he only needed a few extra days of rest. For now he should be considered day-to-day, but we'll have more information on Thursday when the results of the MRI come back.

Addison Russell went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in a loss to the Indians on Wednesday.

His dismal season gets even worse. The young shortstop has been one of the league's worst hitters in the first month of action. He has a .205 batting average with zero homers and two RBI in 83 plate appearances.

Javier Baez went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles in Wednesday's interleague loss to the Indians.

He didn't contribute to putting any runs on the scoreboard but he did continue his hot-hitting ways. He boosted his slash line up to an impressive .309/.371/.728 with seven homers and 24 RBI on the young season. Only Didi Gregorius of the Yankees has a higher slugging percentage or more RBI.

Jon Lester surrendered three runs in seven innings and was charged with a loss to the Indians on Wednesday.

All three runs came on solo homers -- Brandon Guyer, Francisco Lindor and Edwin Encarnacion all took him deep. Lester allowed four hits total plus two walks while fanning four in the outing. He falls to 2-1 with a 3.29 ERA after five starts. He had allowed just one homer this year prior to today.

Ryan Buchter (undisclosed) exited Wednesday's game against the Rangers with an apparent injury.

Buchter was clearly in pain, as he grimaced immediately after throwing the pitch, and trainers came out to check out the left-hander before he exited the contest. We'll update you with what the what the injury is and the severity of it when we have that information.

Ender Inciarte went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases and two runs scored in a 5-4 win over the Reds on Wednesday.

All three hits were singles, which is normal for the Braves' leadoff hitter -- only two of his 27 hits this year have gone for extra bases and both of those were doubles. His nine stolen bases trail league leader Trea Turner by one. Inciarte has a .276 batting average with eight RBI and 12 runs scored in 22 games.
Apr 25 - 10:26 PM

Ronald Acuna drew the start in left field and snared his first major league hit while making his debut against the Reds on Wednesday.

The game's top prospect went 1-for-5 with a single and two strikeouts in his long-awaited debut. He singled in the eighth inning and scored the tying run as the Braves rallied to a victory. He will probably start nearly every day from here on out and could make a fantasy impact right away if he lives up to the hype.
