Jon Jay will bat leadoff Tuesday against the Phillies.

Cardinals manager Mike Matheny is shaking things up in an effort to get some more offense. Matt Carpenter will slide down to the No. 2 spot while Jason Heyward (hamstring) is back in the lineup and will bat sixth. Unfortunately for fantasy owners, Kolten Wong is still batting eighth.

Gregory Polanco (groin) is not in the Pirates' starting lineup Tuesday against the Cubs.

Polanco tweaked a muscle in his groin over the weekend and was a late scratch from Monday's series opener at Wrigley Field. He is considered day-to-day.
Apr 28 - 4:07 PM

Desmond Jennings (knee) is out of the Rays' starting lineup again Tuesday vs. the Yankees.

Jennings tweaked his left knee on Saturday and will now miss his third straight start. He's not expected to go on the disabled list, so continue to consider him day-to-day for now. David DeJesus, Kevin Kiermaier, and Steven Souza will start in the outfield Tuesday while Tim Beckham will serve as the designated hitter.

Rays designated LHP Everett Teaford for assignment.

The move clears a spot for the newly-acquired Xavier Cedeno. Teaford was just called up over the weekend and allowed one run on four hits and two walks over 2 1/3 innings in his lone appearance.

Miguel Castro has been removed from the Blue Jays' closer role.

Brett Cecil, who was pulled from the closer role earlier this month, is back in. There's no easy answer for the Blue Jays right now, but Castro has really struggled of late, allowing runs in four out of his last five appearances and blowing two saves in the process. The Blue Jays are hoping that pitching in some lower-leverage situations will get him back on track.

Brett Cecil is back as the Blue Jays' closer.

Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said after Monday's game that he would have used Cecil in a save opportunity, so this doesn't come as a big surprise. Miguel Castro has really struggled of late and will now pitch in more lower-leverage situations. Roberto Osuna and Aaron Loup will help set up. Cecil was pulled from the closer role earlier this month and his velocity is still below what we've come to expect, but he needs to be owned in all fantasy leagues as long as the opportunity is there.
Apr 28 - 3:51 PM

Anthony Rendon (knee) is not in Tuesday's lineup with Double-A Harrisburg.

Rendon was scratched from a rehab game Monday because he had trouble getting loose with his knee. That he's sitting again Tuesday isn't a good sign. The Nationals were originally hoping that he would be able to make his season debut as soon as Thursday against the Mets, but that obviously won't happen at this point.
Apr 28 - 3:49 PM

Michael Cuddyer is not in the Mets' starting lineup Tuesday against the Marlins.

Wilmer Flores and Kevin Plawecki are also sitting. Kirk Nieuwenhuis will start in left field while Ruben Tejada plays shortstop and Anthony Recker starts behind the plate.
