Starling Marte posted three singles and an RBI across five at-bats in Saturday's loss in Colorado while also adding a stolen base.

Marte managed just two hits over 12 at-bats in his first three games back from an 80-game PED suspension. However, he has picked up the pace in Denver, going 5-for-10 (.500) in the first two games to raise his average 36 points to a more respectable .263.
Jul 23 - 3:05 AM

Chad Kuhl allowed four earned runs, nine hits and a walk with four strikeouts across six innings in a loss in Colorado on Saturday.

Kuhl is not cutting the mustard in Pittsburgh. He was a big reason why the team was unable to extend a six-game winning streak. Don't be surprised if the Pirates, suddenly contenders in the National League Central, pull the plug on Kuhl soon if he cannot start pitching more consistently. The replacement might come in the form of a rental from another organization at the non-waiver trade deadline.
Jul 23 - 3:02 AM

Charlie Blackmon finished 2-for-5 with a double, a triple and two runs scored in Saturday's game against Pittsburgh.

Blackmon is putting together an MVP-caliber season, and he is having an amazing July to add to his resume. He has nine multi-hit performances across 17 games in the month of July, hitting .386 (27-for-70) with 21 runs scored, three doubles, three triples, six homers and 10 RBI to push his season average to .328.
Jul 23 - 3:00 AM

Greg Holland allowed an earned run, two hits and two walks over 1 1/3 innings in Saturday's game against the Nationals to hang on for his 31st save of the season.

Despite the earned run, Holland is still cruising along with a 1.72 ERA overall this season, even better than his career mark of 2.33. Holland has been one of the most dependable closers in the majors, and a tremendous asset to fantasy owners.
Jul 23 - 2:55 AM

German Marquez allowed two earned runs, three hits and two walks with nine strikeouts over seven innings in a win against the Pirates on Saturday.

Marquez had a dismal month of June, going 1-2 with a 5.48 ERA over five outings. He has picked up the pace rather nicely in July, posting three consecutive victories and quality starts. He'll look to extend that run in his next scheduled outing Friday in Washington opposite Stephen Strasburg.
Jul 23 - 2:52 AM

Ryan Zimmerman finished 2-for-4 with a double, run scored and RBI in Saturday's game in Arizona.

The double was the 361st of Zimmerman's career, moving him to the top of the Expos/Nationals franchise list, one ahead of Tim Wallach. The solid games have been few and far between lately for Zimmerman, who has posted eight hitless stat lines across 14 games in the month of July. Still, he is the kind of fantasy option you stick with through thick and thin.
Jul 23 - 2:28 AM

David Peralta was hitless across four at-bats with a pair of strikeouts in Saturday's game against the Nationals.

The goose egg snapped a 10-game hitting streak. He is still hitting a cool .381 (16-for-42) with six runs scored, two homers and six RBI over the past 11 outings. He'll look to start a new streak Sunday, but it won't be easy against fireballer Stephen Strasburg.
Jul 23 - 2:24 AM

Anthony Banda allowed four earned runs, seven hits and no walks with five strikeouts across 5 2/3 innings in a loss against the Nationals on Saturday.

Banda threw 55 of his 82 pitches for strikes in his major league debut. He didn't fare much worse or much better than his time at the Triple-A level. He has a 5.08 ERA with a 1.43 WHIP and 93/43 K/BB ratio. He can be avoided in most fantasy formats for now.
