K.J. McDaniels has been traded to the Brooklyn Nets.
The 76ers reportedly don't expect to find a trade partner for Andrew Bogut, and will immediately begin buyout discussions.
The Cavaliers are one of many teams that will likely pursue Bogut as a free agent. He's likely to slot into a backup role on a playoff contender, and it's hard to see his fantasy stock improving with today's movement.
If the Thunder and Bulls pull off a trade that would send Doug McDermott and Taj Gibson to the Thunder for Cameron Payne, Joffrey Lauvergne and draft compensation would also likely be part of the deal.
Lauvergne has been getting extra run with the Thunder due to the absence of Enes Kanter (arm), but Kanter is nearing a return to action. And if Lauvergne ends up with the Bulls, he would likely be in the rotation, as the Bulls only have Bobby Portis and Nikola Mirotic (as of now) to play at the four. Having said that, it's still hard to imagine Lauvergne having 12-team fantasy value with the Bulls, or any other team.
Rodney Hood (knee) practiced again on Thursday.
This was his second practice in a row and he's trending in the right direction for Friday's game vs. the Bucks. Hood has season averages of 13.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 0.6 steals and 2.1 triples on 42.0 percent shooting, but he's more of a low-end pickup because of his inconsistency and durability issues. Joe Johnson and Joe Ingles will lose most of their fantasy appeal when Hood is cleared.
Coach Doc Rivers said Chris Paul (thumb) is "out most likely" for Thursday against the Warriors.
He is technically listed as out in the game notes, but there is a chance he will play. The Clippers start their second half on a back-to-back set, so he may have a chance to play against the Spurs. For tonight, Austin Rivers and Raymond Felton will handle the ball more while a lot of action will go through Blake Griffin.
Deron Williams sat out Thursday's practice.
Williams also sat out on Wednesday and he's not injured, so this adds weight to recent trade rumors -- coach Rick Carlisle also cited a "pending" situation. The Jazz have been mentioned as a potential landing spot, even though it seems like an odd fit. Either way, Yogi Ferrell stands to gain plenty of value if D-Will heads out of Dallas.
Andre Roberson could be headed to Chicago in a potential Doug McDermott and Cameron Payne trade, according to Frank Isola of The Daily News.
OKC is trying to find out how much it will cost to re-sign Roberson, as well. This trade sounds like it's going down and Andre Roberson was giving hugs to his teammates in practice. The Bulls could be very busy with more deals coming, but Roberson isn't going to be much more than a defender anyway.
According to Frank Isola of the NY Daily News, the Thunder are nearing a deal to acquire Doug McDermott.
The proposed deal would likely include Andre Roberson and Cameron Payne from the Thunder, so McDermott could potentially be the starting small forward in OKC. If you have a roster spot and need 3-pointers, McDermott is now firmly on the radar as a pickup. He's averaging 1.3 triples in 24.5 minutes per game for the Bulls.
