Andrew Cashner yielded five runs in five innings Tuesday in a loss to the Red Sox.

Cashner walked four and threw two wild pitches. He has a 21/25 K/BB ratio after eight starts, and he's been incredibly lucky to sport a 3.18 ERA to this point.

Jeremy Jeffress gave up three runs and walked three while getting just one out Tuesday against the Red Sox.

If Jeffress had been throwing like he was last year, he probably would have been the choice to step in as the Rangers' closer when Sam Dyson lost the job. However, he has a 6.75 ERA and an ugly 9/11 K/BB ratio in 17 1/3 innings to date. Much like they did with Dyson, the Rangers might need to stick Jeffress on the DL for a spell.

Joe Biagini gave up three runs over 4 1/3 innings in Tuesday’s 4-3 win over the Brewers.

Biagini blanked the Brew Crew through the first four frames, but he got BABIP’d to death in the fifth with four singles, a walk and three runs. He issued three free passes on the night and recorded three strikeouts. Biagini was good in his first two starts, but that hasn’t been the case the last two times out. He’ll try for better results against the Reds in his next outing.

Joey Gallo collected his 14th homer and his fifth double Tuesday against the Red Sox.

Even though he's hitting just .193, Gallo still has the best OPS among Rangers regulars, besting Nomar Mazara by 40 points (.839 to .798). As long as he doesn't falter, he should move to left field once Adrian Beltre comes off the DL.

Jimmy Nelson allowed four runs over five frames on Tuesday versus the Blue Jays.

Kendrys Morales launched a two-run homer off of Nelson, who gave up eight hits and a walk over his five innings. It was a step backward after he put together back-to-back terrific outings. Nelson has struck out nearly a batter per inning this season but holds a pedestrian 4.20 ERA and 1.40 WHIP. He’ll face the Diamondbacks on Sunday.

Roberto Osuna tossed a scoreless ninth inning to record his seventh save of the season on Tuesday in Milwaukee.

Osuna walked Eric Sogard with two outs as he tried to protect a one-run lead, but he then got Jonathan Villar swinging to end it. He hasn't been afforded many save chances this season, but Osuna has now been unscored upon in 11 of his last 12 appearances.

Edwin Encarnacion homered twice Tuesday to propel the Indians past the Reds 8-7.

It was only a matter of time before Encarnacion figured this out. He's still striking out more than usual, but he has four homers and two doubles in his last seven games.
May 23 - 11:06 PM

Kendrys Morales smacked a two-run homer Tuesday in Milwaukee.

Morales' longball off of Jimmy Nelson in the fifth inning extended the Blue Jays' lead to 4-0 and they wound up hanging on 4-3. While his .244/.295/.433 batting line isn't anything to write home about, Morales has swatted eight home runs and driven in 25 runs.
