Jake Lamb went 2-for-3 with a triple, two RBI and two walks Friday against the Giants.

Lamb did lose an at-bat to Yasmany Tomas tonight, but that's only because the rout was on. He won't be losing any starts to the Cuban defector, not with the way he's performed the first two weeks. He's 11-for-25 with nine RBI.

Brandon Belt went 0-for-3 as the Giants' No. 6 hitter in Friday's loss.

Before Hunter Pence got hurt, the Giants indicated that Belt could open the season batting third. However, that injury rearranged the lineup and Belt has hit fourth twice, fifth four times and now sixth once, going 2-for-26 in the process. His bat will warm up, but his fantasy value has already taken a hit. Hopefully, things will get better for the Giants lineup as a whole once Pence returns.

Yovani Gallardo tossed six scoreless innings Friday for the win as the Rangers beat the Mariners 3-1.

Gallardo has won back-to-back starts since his Opening Day debacle, bringing his ERA down to 3.45 in the process. It does come with a 1.66 WHIP, though. He's strictly an AL-only guy at this stage of his career.
Apr 18 - 1:25 AM

Neftali Feliz earned his second save in as many chances Friday against the Mariners.

Feliz hasn't really inspired much confidence since the spring, but he's always owned the Mariners. This makes 27 scoreless innings against the team in one start and 21 relief appearances.
Apr 18 - 1:23 AM

J.A. Happ yielded two runs in seven innings Friday in a loss to the Rangers.

Happ has given the Mariners consecutive quality starts with no victories to show for it. His next start will come against the Astros, giving him a chance to rack up more strikeouts than the four he's totaled in his first two starts.
Apr 18 - 1:21 AM

Robinson Chirinos homered and doubled to lead the Rangers offense in Friday's win.

Chirinos is 4-for-8 with two homers in his last two starts after opening the season 1-for-13. He figures to have a tough time staying healthy while catching regularly for the Rangers, but until he gets hurt, he should be a decent second catcher in mixed leagues.
Apr 18 - 1:17 AM

Mike Zunino went 0-for-3 in Friday's loss and is still without an RBI this season.

Zunino had a great spring, but it certainly hasn't carried over, as he's started the season 4-for-33 with a 15/2 K/BB ratio in 10 games. The power numbers will be there in the end, but it's not a given that he'll improve much on last year's .199 average.
Apr 18 - 1:13 AM

Trevor Plouffe delivered a walk-off solo homer in a 3-2 win over the Indians in 11 innings on Friday night.

How's that for a slump-buster? Plouffe came into Friday's action hitting .133 and went hitless over his first four at-bats before taking Bryan Shaw deep to leadoff the bottom of the 11th and send the Target Field fans home happy. The 28-year-old hasn't been able to replicate the power production he had in 2012, but he's capable of being a useful corner infielder in deeper mixed leagues.
