Carlos Gonzalez was removed from Friday's game against the Tigers in the sixth inning due to an apparent injury.
Gonzalez made a terrific sliding catch down the right field line to end the fifth inning, but was slow to get up and was noticeably limping off the field. The Rockies should provide an update on the oft-injured outfielder's status shortly. Brandon Barnes replaced him in right field.
Gerrit Cole (lat) was scratched from his minor league rehab start at Triple-A Indianapolis on Friday.
At this point, the reason for the scratch is unclear. Expect the Pirates to provide an update on the young right-hander's status shortly.
Cubs recalled RHP Blake Parker from Triple-A Iowa.
Parker been shuttled back and forth between Chicago and Iowa this season whenever the Cubs need an extra arm in the bullpen. The 29-year-old will function in middle relief for the Cubs.
Daniel Hudson (elbow) is scheduled to begin a minor league rehab assignment in the Arizona League on Tuesday.
The veteran right-hander is working his way back from Tommy John surgery, and could work out of the bullpen initially once he is cleared to rejoin the Diamondbacks. He isn't worth stashing in redraft fantasy leagues.
Ricky Nolasco (elbow) is expected to return to the Twins rotation on August 15 against the Royals.
That is provided the veteran right-hander can avoid any setbacks on his minor league rehab assignment. He has been on the shelf since early July due to flexor pronator stiffness, and owned an ineffective 5.90 ERA and 1.62 WHIP over 103 2/3 innings before he was shut down.
Scooter Gennett (finger) is considered day-to-day with a contusion of his left index finger.
There had been some concern in the organization that the injury was more serious, but X-rays ruled out any structural damage. Expect him to return to the lineup at some point over the weekend.
Jimmy Nelson has been scratched from his scheduled start on Saturday due to a blister on his throwing hand.
Kyle Lohse will start in his place on Saturday, with Matt Garza sliding up a day to pitch on Sunday. Nelson is tentatively scheduled to take on the Giants on Tuesday provided the blister cooperates.
Paul Goldschmidt is not in the Diamondbacks starting lineup for Friday's contest against the Pirates.
It's just a routine day of rest for the All-Star slugger. Jordan Pacheco will draw the start at first base and bat sixth against opposing hurler Edinson Volquez.
