Adeiny Hechavarria went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored in a win over the Orioles on Wednesday.

He launched one off reliever Miguel Castro in the sixth inning for his second bomb of the season. He is serving as the Rays' starting shortstop this year and is doing a good job at the plate, sporting a .288 batting average with 12 RBI and nine runs in 81 plate appearances at the bottom of the batting order.

Jake Faria surrendered four runs in 4 1/3 innings and did not get a decision as his club beat the Orioles on Wednesday.

The big blow was a two-run double by nine-hole batter Jace Peterson in the second inning. Faria allowed four hits and three walks while notching five strikeouts in the short outing. He has struggled with his control this year, leading to a 6.33 ERA with 20 strikeouts and 14 walks in 21 1/3 innings through his first five starts.

Ryan Buchter left Wednesday's game against the Rangers with shoulder stiffness.

Buchter grimaced after throwing his last pitch against Texas, and left with trainers. He'll undergo testing on his shoulder, and we should know more about the severity of the injury when the results of that become public, likely on Thursday.

Adam Jones went 2-for-4 and drove in a run in Wednesday's loss to the Rays.

He doubled twice in the ballgame -- one of those plated Trey Mancini with a run in the first inning. The veteran outfielder is off to a slow start just like the rest of his teammates. He has a .250 batting average with three longballs and 13 RBI in 104 plate appearances. He has hit 25 or more homers in each of the last seven seasons and better pick up the pace a bit if he wants to make it eight in a row.

Kris Bryant (head) could return to the lineup on Thursday after meeting with team physicians.

Bryant will reportedly meet with team physician Dr. Stephen Adams when the team returns to Chicago on Thursday, and if that meeting goes well, he could be back at third base for their game that day against the Brewers. The 26-year-old third baseman has gotten off to a sensational start on the season with a 1.003 OPS to show for it, and he'd be a welcome addition to the Chicago lineup for their big four-game series against Milwaukee.

Alex Cobb coughed up five runs in 4 2/3 innings to take a loss to the Rays on Wednesday.

He failed to strike out a batter while allowing 10 hits and a walk in yet another dismal outing. He has lost all three of the starts he's made since joining the Orioles and sports a bloated 13.11 ERA and 2.83 ERA. Fantasy owners should wait to see a decent start from Cobb before placing any faith in him whatsoever.

Trevor Bauer struck out eight batters and allowed just one run in 6 2/3 innings to beat the Cubs 4-1 on Wednesday.

It was a strong outing against a very good lineup. Bauer scattered just four singles and three walks in the contest and improved his record to 2-2 after five starts. He has a marvelous 2.41 ERA and 1.10 WHIP with 35 strikeouts in 33 2/3 innings. Bauer will face off against Cole Hamels and the Rangers on Monday.

Edwin Encarnacion went 2-for-3 and belted a solo home run against the Cubs on Wednesday.

His sixth-inning blast was the Tribe's third of the day against Cubs ace Jon Lester. It's been a rough season for Encarnacion in the early going. He has a paltry .173 batting average with five homers and eight RBI but is sure to heat up with the weather.
