Nationals purchased the contract of OF Juan Soto from Double-A Harrisburg.

Braves manager Brian Snitker said Sunday that Johan Camargo will be the team's everyday third baseman following the release of Jose Bautista.

Camargo hasn't hit much this year after a nice rookie season, although he has picked it up lately in reaching base seven times over his last four games. There's not much upside here for fantasy purposes, but Camargo's multi-position eligibility could make him useful in deeper leagues. Top prospect Austin Riley is just a step away at Triple-A Gwinnett and could get a shot if Camargo scuffles.

Braves released 3B/OF Jose Bautista.

It's an experiment that just never worked out, as Bautista unsurprisingly struggled defensively at third base and didn't do nearly enough with the bat (.143/.250/.343) to make up for it. Johan Camargo will take over as the everyday third baseman for the Braves. This could be the end of the line for the 37-year-old Bautista.

Matt Duffy (hamstring) didn't get a hit but walked twice in his return to action Saturday.

Duffy hadn't played since Tuesday because of a tight right hamstring. Hamstring ailments can often be aggravated, so we'll see if it's truly behind him.
May 20 - 8:23 AM

Francisco Cervelli (finger) went 0-for-4 at dish in his return to the lineup Saturday.

Cervelli sat out Friday after jamming a finger when he dove back into a base Thursday. It shouldn't be an issue moving forward.
May 20 - 8:20 AM

Jean Segura posted a triple, a solo home run and three RBI across four at-bats in Saturday's victory against the Tigers.

Segura is on fire lately, collecting two or more hits in five of his past seven outings. He also has multi-hit efforts in nine of his 17 outings in the month of May, raising his average from .298 to .316 in the process. He'll look to keep it going Sunday against LHP Francisco Liriano. He has been creaming southpaws to the tune of a .373 average (22-for-59) with five doubles, a triple and an .895 OPS.
May 20 - 1:39 AM

Ben Gamel finished 2-for-4 with a double and a solo home run in Saturday's victory against Detroit.

Gamel's homer in the second inning off of Mike Fiers was his first of the 2018 campaign. He is enjoying his best stretch of the season, going 7-for-15 (.467) with two doubles, a home run and three RBI. He'll try to carry over the momentum into Sunday's series finale against LHP Francisco Liriano.
May 20 - 1:34 AM

James Paxton allowed just two earned runs, three hits and a walk with eight strikeouts in a complete-game victory against the Tigers on Saturday.

Paxton has gone the distance in two of his past three outings. He threw 83 of his 117 pitches for strikes to lower his ERA to 3.30. He has managed five straight quality starts while winning his past three decisions over the past nine outings. The southpaw hasn't endured a setback since losing his initial start of the season back on March 31 against the Indians. He'll look to stay hot at home Friday against the visiting Twins.
