Jose Berrios held the Tigers to two runs over eight innings Monday in the Twins' 4-2 victory.

Nicholas Castellanos popped Berrios for a solo homer in the top of the first inning and an RBI single in the top of the third, but the 23-year-old right-hander allowed just one other hit and struck out nine in his second straight dominant outing. Berrios has brought his season ERA down to 3.82 and he's also rocking an impressive 0.91 WHIP and 59/12 K/BB ratio in 61 1/3 innings this year. Up next is a road start against the Mariners.

Chase Anderson threw six innings of two-run ball to beat the Diamondbacks on Monday

Anderson prevailed over Zack Greinke in a batter of starters working against their former teams. Anderson missed two turns with an illness, but he's 4-3 with a 3.86 ERA this year. He's a good play against the Mets next time out.

Corey Knebel pitched a perfect ninth Monday for his first save since coming off the disabled list.

The Brewers are still easing Knebel back into regular work, so he might not get all of their save chances in the near future. Still, he should again be the preferred option in the ninth. Since coming off the DL, he's pitched five innings and allowed one run, that coming in his first appearance back.

Zack Greinke took a loss after surrendering four runs and three homers in six innings versus the Brewers on Monday.

Greinke struck out nine and walked none, but there was no coming back from the homers, not with the way the Diamondbacks are hitting. Greinke fell to 3-3 with a 3.71 ERA.

Jorge Soler went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts in the Royals' loss to the Cardinals on Monday.

Soler couldn't figure out Miles Mikolas, though neither could any of the other Royals hitters. Soler still has a cool .289/.392/.474 batting line in 42 games this season, but he's gone a little cold here in late May.
May 21 - 11:01 PM

Lorenzo Cain went 2-for-4 and hit his sixth homer Monday against the Diamondbacks.

His .838 OPS doesn't stand out, but Cain has been one of the NL's most valuable players this year with his .387 OBP, 29 runs scored and excellent defense for a strong Brewers club.
May 21 - 11:00 PM

Matt Carpenter finished 3-for-4 with a solo homer and two runs scored Monday in the Cardinals' defeat of the Royals.

Carpenter was one of the coldest hitters in the majors through the first seven weeks of the 2018 regular season, but he has now logged two straight three-hit games and he has 13 hits over his last 24 at-bats. The 32-year-old corner infielder is locked-in and worth adding again in mixed fantasy leagues.
May 21 - 10:59 PM

Jake Lamb hit his first homer and walked twice Monday against the Brewers.

Lamb's first homer came in his third game back from the DL and seventh game overall this season. He should be of some use in mixed leagues the rest of the way, though the humidor is going to take a toll.
