Dallas Keuchel (neck) will start against the Tigers in Detroit on Friday.

A neck injury has kept Keuchel out of action since early June. He went through his minor league rehab assignment without issue and is now set to rejoin the rotation. Prior to his injury concern, Keuchel had been pitching to a 1.67 ERA in 11 starts. Filling out the rest of the weekend rotation, Collin McHugh will take the ball on Saturday and Lance McCullers will go on Sunday.

Marlins recalled RHP Drew Steckenrider from Triple-A New Orleans.

Steckenrider earns the call to the bigs with Kyle Barraclough (shoulder) hitting the disabled list. He will provide bullpen depth and figures to pitch in low-leverage situations now that he is back up with the big league club. In 7 2/3 frames with the Marlins earlier this season, he held a 3.52 ERA.

Marlins placed RHP Kyle Barraclough on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to July 25, with right shoulder impingement.

Barraclough had pitched to a 3.30 ERA and 50/30 K/BB ratio in 48 appearances with the Marlins prior to landing on the disabled list. There is no concrete timetable for his recovery at this juncture. Drew Steckenrider has been recalled from Triple-A to help augment the team's bullpen depth.

Stephen Strasburg (arm) played long-toss in the outfield on Wednesday.

Strasburg was lifted from Sunday's start against the Diamondbacks with discomfort in his right forearm. A team spokesman said on Tuesday that there had been some nerve impingement which has since alleviated. As of now, the hope is that Strasburg will be able to make his next start and will not require a stint on the disabled list. Stay tuned.

Michael Taylor (oblique) played catch in the outfield on Wednesday.

Taylor could start taking some light swings before the end of the week. He was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a right oblique strain just before the All-Star break. Currently up 11.5 games in the NL East, the Nationals have the luxury to allow Taylor some time to recover. He could potentially rejoin the team in early August so long as his rehab continues to progress smoothly.

Stephen Piscotty (groin) will begin a minor league rehab assignment with Low-A Peoria on Thursday.

Piscotty will be rehabbing at Low-A at least through the weekend. The initial hope was that he would be activated from the disabled list earlier this week, but he was not quite ready to return to the team when first eligible. Piscotty has been out of action since July 15 with a right groin strain.

Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports that "about eight teams" remain interested in Addison Reed as a trade piece.

The Rays, Dodgers and Red Sox are among the teams that have reportedly kicked the tires on potentially acquiring Reed. There is no smoke around an imminent trade at this juncture. In 48 appearances this season, the right-hander is 30-for-33 in save chances and has pitched to a 2.63 ERA with a 48/6 K/BB ratio.

Odubel Herrera is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros.

Aaron Altherr is playing center and hitting fifth in Herrera's place. Phillies manager Pete Mackanin said that Herrera will also sit when the team takes on the Braves on Friday, but says that this two-game rest is not a benching.
