CSN Bay Area calls 49ers OL Anthony Davis' move from right tackle to right guard "official."

Titans TE Craig Stevens is retiring after eight years in the league.

The No. 85 overall pick of the 2008 draft, Stevens is forfeiting $2 million by hanging it up. Of course, it's quite possible the decision comes after the Titans told him he wasn't going to make the team. A blocking specialist, Stevens spent his entire eight-year career in Tennessee, catching 60 passes and scoring six touchdowns.

Texans waived/injured DE Alex Carrington.

Signed as depth last week, Carrington simply can't stay on the field. He'll go unclaimed on waivers and revert to injured reserve. Carrington should eventually be cut loose with an injury settlement.

Jamaal Charles (knee) was a full participant in team drills on Tuesday.

It's the first time in camp Charles has been full-go for 11-on-11s. Charles isn't going to see any preseason action, but is right on course for Week 1.

Teddy Bridgewater (shoulder) has resumed throwing.

Bridgewater missed last Thursday's preseason game, and was held out of practice over the weekend. He was limited to throws of roughly 15 yards in distance on Tuesday. The Vikings never even formally acknowledged that Bridgewater is/was hurt. It's not a concern for his Week 1 status, though he could miss this weekend's important third preseason game.

Redskins coach Jay Gruden has "total expectation" Josh Doctson (Achilles') will be ready for Week 1.

"He did the route tree today, which is very positive," Gruden said Tuesday. "I have total expectation that he’s going to be ready Week 1, possibly the fourth preseason game, but we’ll still see. Like I said, it’s a new injury to me." Gruden also refused to rule out the reserve/PUP list in the same press conference, but it seems like coachspeak in the full context of his comments. The Redskins open the season 20 days from today.

Seahawks RB C.J. Prosise is expected to see time in Thursday's preseason game.

The third-round rookie missed Seattle's first two exhibition games. Prosise had been ticketed for third-down duties, but has since been passed up by a resurgent Christine Michael. Prosise isn't on the re-draft radar for Week 1.

Joe Flacco (knee) will play in Saturday's preseason game against the Lions.

In the final stages of his recovery from a torn ACL, Flacco sat out Baltimore's first two exhibition tilts. "You need to get back out there (and) you need to get your mind used to getting ready for a game," Flacco said. "And then, yeah, I need to get over that last hurdle, which is going out there and being a live target for guys to hit and see how I react to it." It's important for the entire offense, as the third preseason game serves as a team's "regular season dress rehearsal," so to speak. Flacco has said his knee still isn't 100 percent, but he hasn't missed a rep this summer.
