Mark Teixeira is not in the Yankees' lineup Monday.

It appears to just be a day of rest. Garrett Jones is at first base in Teixeira's place.

Rockies outfield prospect Jordan Patterson has hit a remarkable .542 over his last six games with High-A Modesto.

Patterson owns an incredible eight-game double streak. More than half of his hits this year (17-of-31) have gone for extra bases, a testament to both Patterson's speed and power. Patterson must take after Shane Victorino because he's already been hit by a whopping eight pitches this year. The 23-year-old has driven in ten runs over his last ten games.

Twins recalled OF Eddie Rosario from Triple-A Rochester.

He's taking Oswaldo Arcia's (hip) spot on the roster and should see ample playing time. A former top-100 prospect, Rosario has really struggled the last two seasons since returning from a PED suspension, hitting just .242/.280/.379 this season.
May 4 - 4:28 PM

Twins placed OF Oswaldo Arcia on the 15-day disabled list with right hip flexor strain.

Arcia suffered the injury during Sunday's game. It's not clear at this point how long he'll be sidelined, but Eddie Rosario and Eduardo Escobar figure to be the main beneficiaries of extra playing time while Arcia is on the shelf.

Cubs prospect Billy McKinney launched two homers Sunday in a win for Double-A Tennessee.

Both of his homers were solo shots. The 2013 first-round pick is having a solid season, batting .290 with ten RBI. Sunday was McKinney's second career multi-homer game. Rated by MLB.com as Chicago's eighth-best prospect, McKinney was acquired from Oakland last year as part of the Jeff Samardzija trade.

Cubs pitching prospect Tyler Skulina earned his first win of the year Sunday for High-A Myrtle Beach.

Skulina tossed six scoreless frames, allowing one hit and a walk. The eight punchouts he registered marks a new career-high. As good as he looked Sunday, Skulina still has some edges that need to be smoothed out. He's posted an underwhelming 4.95 ERA in four starts and has yet to work past the sixth inning. Manager Mark Johnson took the ball from Skulina after only 68 pitches Sunday, so he's clearly on a strict pitch count.

Dodgers recalled LHP Daniel Coulombe from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Coulombe was sporting a strong 1.74 ERA and 16/4 K/BB ratio through 10 1/3 innings of relief this season at the Triple-A level. He should be a nice addition for LA.

Asdrubal Cabrera has been dropped to the seventh spot in the Rays' batting order Monday.

Cabrera had been hitting third for the Rays, but he's in a bad slump so manager Kevin Cash will try something different. James Loney is batting third on Monday night.
