Robert Griffin III completed 16-of-23 passes for 220 yards and an interception in Saturday's Week 16 win over the Eagles.
Griffin looked more decisive from the pocket, and was able to go through his progressions when given time. His highlights were two 50-plus yard throws to DeSean Jackson. Grifin's interception came trying to force a pass to Jackson in double coverage, but he managed to bounce back and lead Washington to a game-winning drive. The Redskins (4-11) will have a chance to play spoiler again in Week 17 against Dallas.
Chargers TE Ladarius Green (ankle, concussion) is active for Week 16 against the 49ers.
Green could see an expanded role with Keenan Allen out, but isn't on the TE2 radar. Inactive for the Chargers are RB Ryan Mathews, P Mike Scifres, CB Greg Ducre, DE Damion Square, NT Ryan Carrethers, and OLB Cordarro Law.
Frank Gore (concussion) is active for Week 16 against the Chargers.
Gore was cleared to play after practicing on a limited basis. He'll handle all of the carries with Carlos Hyde sidelined. The 49ers inactives are WR Stevie Johnson, CB Tramaine Brock, OLB Ahmad Brooks, OG Joe Looney, QB Josh Johnson, and OG Andrew Tiller.
Dolphins promoted WR Matt Hazel from the practice squad.
A sixth-round pick, Hazel will contribute on special teams if active. The Dolphins waived LB Jake Knott.
Julian Edelman (concussion) is not expected to play in Sunday's game against the Jets.
Edelman was only able to practice on a limited basis this week. He didn't travel with the team and hasn't been cleared to play. Rob Gronkowski and Brandon LaFell will see an increase in targets, with Danny Amendola a candidate for an expanded role.
49ers placed ILB Chris Borland (ankle) on injured reserve, ending his season.
Borland had a highly productive rookie season, posting 107 tackles, two interceptions and a sack after taking over as a full-time starter for Patrick Willis in Week 7. He'll return in a featured role in 2015. The 49ers promoted LB Chase Thomas to replace Borland on the active roster.
Bucs placed S Major Wright (ribs) on injured reserve, ending his season.
Wright finishes 2014 with 51 tackles over 12 games (seven starts). Bradley McDougald will continue to replace him at strong safety. The Bucs promoted CB C.J. Wilson in a corresponding move.
NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports Frank Gore (concussion) will play in Saturday night's game against the Chargers.
Gore practiced on a limited basis and has cleared his concussion protocols. With Carlos Hyde (ankle, back) ruled out, he should see an increased workload. Gore is a top-25 running back play for Week 16.
