Brandon Crawford cleared the bases with a double to break a 3-3 tie in the 14th inning as the Giants defeated the Phillies on Tuesday.

Crawford took advantage of a struggling Jeff Manship, lacing a two-out double to left-center to give the Giants an 8-5 lead. They would tack on one more run just for good measure. Crawford had previously knocked in a run with a ground out and finished 2-for-6 on the night. The shortstop is slashing .239/.323/.413 with eight home runs and 44 RBI on the season.

Anthony Rendon finished 3-for-5 with two runs scored in Tuesday's win over the Rockies.

Rendon's three-hit effort broke a 1-for-19 slump he'd endured to start the second half. His two runs scored gives him 71 runs on the season, second-most in the National League. The 24-year-old is batting .279/.333/.473 with 13 home runs and 53 RBI with just over two months to play.
Jul 23 - 12:53 AM

Rafael Soriano pitched a scoreless ninth inning against the Rockies on Tuesday to earn his 23rd save of the season.

Soriano bounced back from blowing a save opportunity his last time out to put down the Rockies with relative ease. Soriano worked around a leadoff double to get Charlie Blackmon swinging before inducing two fly ball outs to end the game. The hiccup in his previous outing appears to have been just that, and Soriano still owns a stellar 1.15 ERA and 0.87 WHIP going forward.
Jul 23 - 12:48 AM

Yohan Flande allowed three runs over 5 1/3 innings of a no-decision against the Nationals on Tuesday.

Flande actually left in line for his first major league victory, but it wasn't to be as the Rockies bullpen proceeded to blow the lead and the game. The left-hander remains 0-2 with a 6.75 ERA and 1.60 WHIP on the year, and the Rockies should be able to find a better option to start in Flande's place before long.
Jul 23 - 12:44 AM

Jordan Zimmermann allowed four runs on eight hits over five innings of work in a no-decision against the Rockies on Tuesday.

Zimmermann was vulnerable to the big hit on Tuesday, as the Rockies scored all four of their runs against him on two homers and an RBI triple. He did strike out six while not walking a batter, raising his season K/BB ratio to 107/20 in 118 innings. Zimmermann will carry a 6-5 record and 3.20 ERA into his start at the Marlins early next week.
Jul 23 - 12:39 AM

Ryan Zimmerman will undergo an MRI after leaving Tuesday's game against the Rockies with a strained right hamstring.

It's looking like Zimmerman is headed to the disabled list, but the Nationals won't know for sure until the test results come back. It would be his second trip to the DL this season, as he missed nearly two months with a fractured thumb. The Nats would go back to Anthony Rendon at third base and Danny Espinosa at second if Zimmerman is on the shelf for a while.
Jul 23 - 12:33 AM

Mike Moustakas went 3-for-5 with two home runs and three RBI in the Royals' 7-1 win over the White Sox on Tuesday.

When it rains, it pours for Moustakas -- he'd hit just two home runs since June 21 and he hadn't driven in a run in his past eight games prior to Tuesday's outburst. The homers give Moustakas 12 home runs on the season to go with a .198/.262/.391 line. Games like Tuesday's remind of his potential, but the third baseman is just too inconsistent to be relied upon in fantasy realms.
Jul 23 - 12:31 AM

Adam Dunn went 2-for-4 with a solo home run against the Royals on Tuesday.

Dunn hit the solo shot off Royals starter Bruce Chen in the fourth inning. The homer was his 15th of the year, giving him 40 RBI. He's slashing .227/.364/.444 overall.
