Tigers recalled LHP Matt Boyd from Triple-A Toledo.

Boyd will make his Tigers debut on Wednesday against the Royals. The young southpaw was knocked around in two starts earlier this season but boasts a 1.65 ERA in 19 outings between Double- and Triple-A. He's worth a shot in AL-only leagues.

Mike Moustakas (knee) had a single in four plate appearances in his return to action Tuesday.

Moustakas hadn't played since having to leave Saturday's game following a hit by pitch in his knee. He should be OK moving forward.
Aug 5 - 8:40 AM

Pablo Sandoval (forearm) belted a solo homer in one of his four plate appearances in his return to the lineup Tuesday.

Sandoval hadn't started since last Thursday due to a bruised left forearm. He's hitting a disappointing .259/.305/.385 with nine longballs and 35 RBI this season.

Nelson Cruz hit a homer in his fifth straight game as the Mariners cruised past the Rockies 10-4 on Tuesday.

Cruz hit a 463-foot bomb in the seventh inning, giving him 31 home runs on the year. It was also his fifth consecutive multi-hit game, raising his overall line to .323/.387/.597. Cruz continues to be ranked among the league leaders in a number of offensive categories, having 67 RBI and 57 runs scored through 106 games.

Nick Hundley went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in Tuesday's loss to the Mariners.

Hundley took Mariners starter Vidal Nuno deep in the fourth inning for his ninth home run of the season. The move to the Rockies has definitely aided Hundley's offense, as he's now hitting .303/.343/.472 with 39 RBI and 40 runs scored on the season.
Aug 5 - 1:57 AM

Robinson Cano went 2-for-4 with three RBI and a run scored in a win over the Rockies on Tuesday.

Cano had an RBI double in the first inning before singling in two more with the bases loaded in the eighth. It was another productive night for the 32-year-old, who now has 12 RBI in his last nine games. After a sluggish first half, Cano is now batting .264/.309/.413 with 48 RBI and 51 runs scored on the year.
Aug 5 - 1:53 AM

Kyle Parker hit his first major league home run in Tuesday's loss to the Mariners.

With the outcome of the game still in the balance, Parker hit a solo shot off reliever Mayckol Guaipe -- not exactly the most memorable opposing pitcher against whom to hit a first-ever homer -- in the sixth inning. It was Parker's lone hit in four at-bats. Parker is hitting .286/.333/.500 after Tuesday's game but will need to show more of that power before becoming fantasy relevant.
Aug 5 - 1:50 AM

Cody Allen set the Angels down in order for his 22nd save in Tuesday's 2-0, 12-inning win.

In the 12th inning, after the Indians had taken a 2-0 lead, Allen fanned David DeJesus and Kole Calhoun consecutively before getting Mike Trout to ground out to end the game. The right-hander has struggled, particularly recently, but is 22-for-24 in save situations on the year with a 3.56 ERA and a 66/17 K/BB ratio over 43 innings.
