Raisel Iglesias is in danger of missing Sunday's start against the Pirates with a right shoulder injury.

Iglesias said he felt a "pinch" on Friday and was examined by team doctors. Louisville right-hander Tim Adleman was scratched from his scheduled start Saturday in case the Reds need him to fill in on Sunday. Iglesias' first five starts have yielded mixed results. His 3.49 ERA is impressive but opponents are hitting .296 against him with four homers in 115 at-bats. Fantasy owners should prepare to be without him on Sunday.
Apr 30 - 6:18 PM

Ervin Santana (back) played catch and worked on his mechanics Saturday.

He's expected to follow the same routine Sunday before throwing a bullpen session on Tuesday. Santana is eligible to come off the disabled list Friday against the White Sox. That might be a tad optimistic but Santana seems to be moving in the right direction.
Apr 30 - 6:02 PM

Corey Knebel (oblique) resumed throwing on Friday.

So did Matt Garza (lat). Both appear to be making steady progress. Knebel has been battling a strained oblique since late in spring training. The 24-year-old cruised to a 3.22 ERA in 48 appearances for the Brewers in 2015. He'll work in a setup role upon his return.
Apr 30 - 5:49 PM

Yasiel Puig is not in the Dodgers' lineup Saturday against the Padres.

He'll get the day off after laboring through a dismal 0-for-4 showing on Friday. Puig has watched his average fall from .347 to .250 over his last 10 games. Enrique Hernandez will fill in at right field and bat sixth.
Apr 30 - 5:42 PM

Mike Napoli (neck) is not in the Indians' lineup Saturday against the Phillies.

He's out with a stiff neck. Napoli has already slugged four homers this year but he also has 33 strikeouts in only 78 at-bats. Carlos Santana will make his fourth start at first base.
Apr 30 - 5:34 PM

Jayson Werth crushed a three-run homer in the first inning on Saturday, leading the Nationals to a 6-1 victory over the Cardinals.

Werth also singled and delivered a sacrifice fly in the ballgame, finishing the afternoon 2-for-3 with a run scored and four RBI. Despite picking it up at the plate in recent days, Werth is still hitting just .211/.293/.437 with four homers and 13 RBI on the season.
Apr 30 - 5:27 PM

Joe Ross pitched well in Saturday's victory over the Cardinals, scattering six hits and two walks over six innings of one-run ball.

The right-hander punched out four on the afternoon. The only blemish on his day was a sacrifice fly by Matt Carpenter in the fifth inning. Ross has been simply outstanding in the early going, compiling a 3-0 record, 0.79 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 14/7 K/BB ratio over 22 2/3 innings. He'll look to extend his dominance when he does battle against the Cubs at Wrigley Field on Thursday.
Apr 30 - 5:25 PM

Yadier Molina went 2-for-4 with a double as the Cardinals fell to the Nationals on Saturday afternoon.

Molina has had a resurgence at the plate in the first month of the 2016 season, slashing .341/.426/.451 with no homers and 10 RBI. He is once again looking like one of the top offensive performers at his position in the league.
