Thursday night's game between the Athletics and White Sox has been postponed due to rain.

The forecast looks ugly in Chicago, so they went ahead and called this one off early. It'll be made up via a doubleheader on Friday, with first pitch in the opening game scheduled for 4:10 p.m. ET. Lucas Giolito was scheduled to start for the White Sox and Chris Bassitt was on tap for the A's. They'll both pitch Friday.

Nick Vincent (groin) remains on track to return to the Mariners' bullpen on Friday.

Vincent was rained out from a scheduled rehab appearance Wednesday night at Double-A Arkansas, but he threw a simulated inning without issue. The 31-year-old right-hander has been out since late May with a strained groin.

Eddie Rosario was scratched from the Twins' starting lineup on Thursday due to right shoulder soreness.

It's considered a minor issue, and Rosario might be back in there for Friday night's series opener against the Rangers. Ryan LaMarre will start in center field and bat eighth Thursday versus Red Sox right-hander Rick Porcello, with Robbie Grossman in left field and hitting fifth. Max Kepler is in right.

Jean Segura is out of the Mariners' starting lineup Thursday due to an infection in his right forearm.

The infection is treatable with antibiotics, which have been prescribed, and Segura isn't expected to miss too much time -- maybe just this one game. Andrew Romine is starting at shortstop and batting ninth for the Mariners on Thursday afternoon against Yankees right-hander Luis Severino.

Masahiro Tanaka (hamstrings) is scheduled to throw off a mound Sunday.

It'll be his first mound workout since he landed on the disabled list June 9 with tightness in both of his hamstrings. Tanaka is not expected to return to the Yankees' starting rotation until sometime in early-to-mid July. He holds a 7-2 record, 4.58 ERA, 1.087 WHIP, and 73/19 K/BB ratio in 72 2/3 innings (13 starts) this season. Jonathan Loaisiga is filling his spot.

Jean Segura is getting the day off Thursday afternoon against the Yankees.

Andrew Romine will start at shortstop and bat ninth for the Mariners versus right-hander Luis Severino. This looks to be a routine day of maintenance for Segura, who boasts a .334/.359/.480 batting line with six home runs, 44 RBI, 14 stolen bases, and 52 runs scored in 71 games this season.

Yankees activated RHP Luis Cessa from the 10-day disabled list.

Cessa will return to the Yankees' bullpen ahead of Thursday afternoon's series finale against the Mariners after missing over two months with a severe left oblique strain. The 26-year-old right-hander allowed just one unearned run over four innings in his last rehab appearance June 16 at Double-A Trenton. He'll work in long relief.
Jun 21 - 10:41 AM

Yankees placed RHP A.J. Cole on the 10-day disabled list with a left neck strain.

Cole has pitched well for the Yankees since they acquired him from the Nationals in late April, posting a 0.69 ERA and 15 strikeouts across 13 innings of relief. Luis Cessa (oblique) has been activated off the DL in a corresponding move.
