The Bengals' official website said it is "unclear" if RE Michael Johnson (knee) will be ready for Week 1.
Johnson suffered a Grade 2 MCL sprain in early August. He returned to conditioning drills last week, but he has yet to resume practicing. If he can find the practice field this week, he should be good to go.
Bills contract-year LB Nigel Bradham said he has yet to open contract talks with the Bills.
Buffalo would probably like to extend Bradham, but Bradham is third in line behind Marcell Dareus and Cordy Glenn. Bradham is scheduled to make $1.542 million in the final year of his rookie deal. He recorded 104 tackles in 14 starts last season.
The Washington Post reports Redskins owner Dan Snyder is not blocking a trade of Robert Griffin III.
A report from ESPN suggested coach Jay Gruden and GM Scot McCloughan would like to move on from Griffin, but they were meeting resistance from ownership. A source told The Washington Post the report was "100 percent wrong." Even if Washington wanted to move Griffin, they would struggle to find any takers. It would probably be best for all involved if Griffin moved on, but it is hard to see Washington cutting a quarterback they traded the farm for just three years ago.
Eli Manning and the rest of the Giants' starters are expected to play in the fourth preseason game.
Most coaches give their starters the game off with the regular season barely more than a week away, but Tom Coughlin is not most coaches. Even if the starters suit up, they are unlikely to see more than a series or two.
Cowboys QBs coach Wade Wilson said Tony Romo is "light years ahead" of where he was at this point last season.
Romo spent most of last offseason recovering from offseason back surgery. Healthy this year, he was able to participate in OTAs and minicamp for the first time since 2012. Despite the missed offseason, Romo posted the most efficient season of his career in 2014, averaging 8.5 yards per attempt and throwing a touchdown on 7.8 percent of his throws. Both of those numbers will come down this year, but Romo remains a solid QB1.
Updating a previous item, Raiders RT Menelik Watson is done for the year with a torn Achilles' tendon.
It was originally announced as an ankle injury. The Raiders will turn to 2014 free agent flop Austin Howard at right tackle, with J'Marcus Webb manning the starting position at right guard. It's a downgrade for Oakland's offensive line from an athleticism standpoint. Watson was having a strong training camp.
Mychal Rivera caught three passes for 42 yards in the Raiders' third preseason game.
Rivera remained Derek Carr's chain-moving safety valve, making tough catches over the middle. There was early-camp talk of Rivera losing his starting job to rookie Clive Walford, but Walford has missed almost all of training camp with a hamstring injury. Through three preseason affairs, Rivera has four catches for 61 yards. He'll be a low-ceiling TE2 in fantasy this season.
Rod Streater caught three passes for 20 yards in the Raiders' third preseason game.
Streater got off to a slow start at training camp, but he mixed in with the ones during Oakland's third preseason game, operating as the No. 3 wideout behind Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree. The Raiders are expected to primarily run a shotgun/three-wide offense. If they do, Streater should be a regular alongside Cooper and Crabtree in three-receiver packages.
