Bill O'Brien is declining to announce his Week 16 starter at quarterback.

It will either be Case Keenum or Thad Lewis. "I'm going to keep that one close to the vest," O'Brien said Wednesday. "Both these guys, Case and Thad, are out there working hard. Right up until game time, that's going to be the way it is." It sounds like he's going to try to keep the Ravens in the dark until Sunday morning. All Texans are hands off in fantasy Super Bowls.

C.J. Spiller (broken collarbone) took his pads off halfway through Wednesday's practice.

"Yeah, I was just getting used to" wearing them "again," Spiller said. "It's been two months since I've had them on so I just wanted to see what it felt like to put them back." It's a reminder that he can't be counted on for a major role in Sunday's game at Oakland after not taking any contact since Week 7.

A league source tells ESPN's Adam Schefter that Philip Rivers is "battling a back injury that is bigger than people realize."

Rivers has been playing banged up for a while now. A few weeks ago, Antonio Gates revealed that his quarterback has a "very severe rib injury" and now Schefter is exposing a back issue. Rivers (chest) did not practice on Tuesday or Wednesday, but will almost certainly be fine for Saturday's game at San Francisco. We wouldn't adjust any projections.

According to CSN Philly's Reuben Frank, Chris Polk received the first running back rep at Eagles practice on Wednesday, ahead of LeSean McCoy.

McCoy laughed off the running back order following the practice, and Frank concedes it's "impossible to tell" if it actually meant anything. McCoy was reportedly "on the sideline while Polk worked with the first unit." Reporters were only able to view two practice reps before the session was closed to media. "We rotate all the time," McCoy said Wednesday afternoon. "(RBs coach) Duce (Staley) pulled me out. (Darren) Sproles wasn't in either." The Eagles are preparing to play the Redskins on Saturday evening. When Philly and Washington played earlier this year, McCoy managed 22 yards on 19 carries.

The Denver Post's Mike Klis believes Peyton Manning will play out his contract with the Broncos.

This would be welcome news for Dynasty owners of Peyton, Demaryius Thomas, and Emmanuel Sanders. Manning is under contract through 2016 with base salaries of $19 million the next two seasons. Although his play has begun to tail off toward the end of the past two years, Peyton has remained an "elite" quarterback in favorable weather. Manning is currently on pace for 42 touchdowns and 4,735 yards, both big drop-offs from last year's stats (55, 5,477) but still top-shelf fantasy QB1 numbers.

The Broncos hope to have Ronnie Hillman (foot) back "if not this week at Cincinnati then in the season finale."

The Broncos could put Hillman to use as a complement to C.J. Anderson, who's averaged an unruly 27.25 carries per game over the past month. Shifty and quick, Hillman would make more sense as a true change-of-pace than Juwan Thompson, who is a big back like Anderson. Even if Hillman plays Monday night at Cincinnati, it would be a surprise if he handled more than 7-9 touches.

C.J. Spiller (shoulder) was limited in Wednesday's practice.

Spiller was activated from I.R./recall, but isn't a lock to return this week. He won't be more than a boom-or-bust FLEX option if he plays against Oakland.
Dec 17 - 7:45 PM

Larry Fitzgerald (knee) was limited in Wednesday's practice.

Fitzgerald looked healthy last week and should be close to 100 percent. With Ryan Lindley starting, he isn't on the WR3 radar for a Sunday night matchup against Seattle.
