NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports RB Fred Jackson will meet with the Seahawks on Tuesday.

The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports Vikings rookie CB Trae Waynes is not in the starting mix right now.

DC George Edwards said last week he was "aiming for" Waynes to a be a Week 1 starter, but coach Mike Zimmer said that comment was misinterpreted. Xavier Rhodes and Terrance Newman should open the season as the starters outside with Captain Munnerlyn serving as the slot corner.

Falcons coach Dan Quinn said the team is keeping tabs on free agent T Jake Long.

"[Long is] somebody we still have talked about, for sure," Quinn said. "And a guy we have lots of regard for." Jake Matthews is locked in on the left side, but Atlanta could use and upgrade on Ryan Schraeder at right tackle. The Broncos and Giants have also shown interest.

Eagles ILB Kiko Alonso said he missed the team's third preseason game because of a "nagging" knee injury.

Alonso missed all of 2014 after tearing the ACL in his left knee. It is unclear which knee is bothering him now, but Coach Chip Kelly said the injury is unrelated to Alonso's ACL tear. Alonso practiced on Monday, but he has not played in a game since December of 2013.

MLive's Kyle Meinke said, "Joique Bell remains the Lions' No. 1 tailback — for now, at least."

The for now is important. Bell struggled at the beginning of last season after an unhealthy offseason, and a similar start could see Bell fall behind Ameer Abdullah in the pecking order. For now, though, he still projects as the Week 1 starter in Detroit. Fantasy favorite Zach Zenner is well down the depth chart.

The Newark Star-Ledger believes Jets WR Jeremy Kerley's roster spot is safe.

Kerley has lost his slot job to Quincy Enunwa, but he still should have a role in four-wide sets and on special teams. Also working is Kerley's favor is his contract. Signed a four-year deal with $3 million guaranteed last year, cutting Kerley would cost the Jets $800,000 on the 2015 salary cap.

WGN Radio's Adam Hoge reports Kyle Long is a "legitimate option at right tackle" for the Bears.

"He’s had plenty of practice at both guard and tackle," coach John Fox said. There was speculation Long would kick outside all summer, but that speculation seemed to die after Long spent most of training camp at right guard. With Jordan Mills and Charles Leno struggling at tackle, perhaps moving Long to tackle and slotting Vladimir Ducasse in a right guard is the Bears' best move. Long has been a Pro Bowler at right guard each of his first two years in the league.

The New York Post said Jets RB Chris Ivory is the "unquestioned starter."

Ivory's preseason usage has told the same story. He has dominated carries with the first-team offense, ceding just third-down work to Bilal Powell. With Steven Ridley (knee) likely headed to the reserve/PUP and Zac Stacy not a real threat, Ivory is a great bet to surpass the 198 carries he saw last season.
