Reds 2B prospect Brandon Dixon drilled two homers Sunday in a win for Double-A Pensacola.

He drove in six of Pensacola's 12 runs with four coming on a first-inning grand slam. The six RBI set a new career-high. The 24-year-old has come alive this month, hitting .306 with five homers and 18 RBI after batting only .241 with no homers and seven RBI in April. The Reds acquired Dixon from the Dodgers this winter in a trade that sent Todd Frazier to the White Sox.

Yankees recalled INF/OF Rob Refsnyder from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Refsnyder carries some fantasy intrigue because of his power and speed (and his multi-position versatility) but he drew just three at-bats in a nine-day stay with the Yankees earlier this season and he probably won't play a ton this time around either.

Yankees placed INF/OF Dustin Ackley on the 15-day disabled list with a dislocated shoulder.

Ackley hurt himself on a slide Sunday against the Rays. It's not clear how long he might be out, but it figures to be more than 15 days. Rob Refsnyder has been called up in a corresponding 25-man roster move.

Yankees activated RHP Luis Severino from the 15-day disabled list; optioned him to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Severino is recovered from his triceps strain and went three scoreless innings in his one minor league rehab start with High-A Tampa, but there isn't a spot for him right now in the major league rotation. The young right-hander opened the season with a 7.46 ERA and 1.69 WHIP in his first 35 innings (seven starts) with the Yankees.

Cubs OF prospect Eloy Jimenez socked a walk-off home run Sunday in a win for Low-A South Bend.

In doing so, he extended his hitting streak to 16 games. That's the longest streak in the Midwest League this year. Jimenez leads the league in hits (62), OPS (.939), slugging (.557) and total bases (102) and is second in home runs with eight. He's also third in both average (.339) and RBI (34). The 19-year-old has hit a ridiculous .382 in May after batting only .284 in April.

Blue Jays LHP prospect Angel Perdomo scattered three walks and one hit over seven scoreless frames Sunday in a no-decision for Low-A Lansing.

Perdomo didn't allow a hit after giving up a two-out single in the first inning. 57 of his season-high 96 pitches went for strikes. The 22-year-old now holds the Midwest League's seventh-lowest ERA at 1.45. He also owns the lowest batting average against in minor league baseball. Opponents have hit .142 against the left-hander with 54 strikeouts in 148 at-bats this season.

Tony Zych (rotator cuff tendinitis) is aiming to begin throwing off a mound in a week.

He's been playing catch without issue for the last two weeks, but mound work is always the major test. Zych was placed on the disabled list May 4. He had a 3.00 ERA and 19 strikeouts over his first 12 innings this season.

Royals C prospect Chase Vallot drove in a career-high six runs Sunday in a win for Low-A Lexington.

The 19-year-old finished a triple shy of the cycle. Vallot struggled in his first year with Lexington in 2015 (.219 AVG in 279 at-bats) but has turned things around with a brilliant start to the 2016 campaign. Vallot owns the South Atlantic League's second-highest slugging percentage and is third in OPS. He's also tied for second in the league with eight round-trippers. Unfortunately he's also been a frequent strikeout victim, whiffing 57 times in only 136 at-bats.
